  1. I want the cow, chicken poo to compost with. Have offered to buy from two families that have chickens, they always say yes, but in two three years have not gotten any.

  2. Hey guys, trying to figure it all out too. We bought 25 acres that was mostly timbered with a beautiful creek. It does have a good well, septic and electric from a previous trailer. But I consider it raw land. We've talked about living in our camper until our modular is finished. Trying to get our current home ready to sell and figure out where we're going to live is driving me crazy. We also have 12 chickens which make it harder. Lol I'm sure God is tired of hearing me ask for guidance lol

  3. I missed the Live, but loved listening to 2 of my favorite homesteaders <3 Such sweet spirits <3 and then have you together. Blessed. I have 4 kids ranging from 30 to 11. I had 11 yrs of infertility in between child 2 and 3. God had plans. Our first we had at 19 yrs old and the last I had at 38. I can say that having them young is wonderful for energy but having them older I have more patience but a lot less energy even now I feel bad about not having the stamina for the last child that we both had with the first two. We never know what the future holds but thankfully our heavenly Father does. Thank you so much for the girl time together today and for all the good stuff about herbal kitchen ideas for health. We have always been on the move for 24 years because of the military and now we fight the urge to begin again somewhere else, but kids school opportunity and the thought of packing and unpacking helps to keep us put …for now. We would love to go but don't know where to go. I've lived in the extreme north and on a tropical island and I love the warmth and hate slipping on ice and being cold. Im in North FL but I think i could do 7a or 6b with a little frost and occasional snow. We have great friends in NC but Im not sure if I can leave the ocean just yet. Its my love. Maybe a trade off for creeks, rivers and lakes. Community is so important, but because of moving so much, we had have a hard time making roots for the last 6 yrs starting over is hard and very difficult on relationships. I bless you both. Thanks again for making this part of my day great!

  4. I was able to order your book from Amazon last week. I can’t wait!!! I subscribed to Brie’s channel and look forward to seeing her videos. I live in central North Carolina.

  5. I was so blessed to have been adopted by my mama and daddy. I am so thankful that they chose me. When I found out I was adopted at 20, I was so distraught that they weren’t my biological parents. I loved them so much. I thank God for them. I have met my biological parents, and while I love them, I know God put me where I was meant to be. Any child would be blessed to have you.

  6. You need to move to NC. We have everything you need. Oceans, piedmont, and mountains. We welcome you and your family!!! I had tomatoes starting in early June, and I am still harvesting them. They have less juice now, but they cook down perfectly for pizza sauce and paste. Peppers are still going strong. My beets, carrots, and peas are going strong. I know you love rutabagas. They are growing well in our area right now. I live in the central part of NC.

  7. I've never heard of snowflake adoption!
We had to do ivf after many years trying for our son, and I specifically told them that I didn't want any more eggs fertilized than we would use that cycle because I do believe they are little lives just being frozen and put on hold. I didnt want my kids to become medical waste or I heard I could donate them to other infertile couples, but having someone else raise my child didn'tsit right with me.
I figured if we wanted a second we would just start the whole process from scratch again…but little did I know how hard it would be on my body and I couldn't imagine going through that while taking care of a little one and working at 39, 40 or 40+. So now my son is an only child and we just brought a puppy home haha.
But I'm so happy to hear those other babies are getting a chance!

  8. @52:00 Jess this is so sweet of u to have her over.. I know that this will create a greater bond between the children . Ur kids are so blessed to have u as a mom. I love u Bri and I’m so glad u r taking a break I felt u needed it deeply it’s shown in ur eyes. Enjoy xoxox

  9. I appreciate your inspiration during these trying times. My channel is about treasure hunting on a budget, and so when the C hit, a garden was important to bring back to my land. But my followers were keen on it at first, but fizzled out at the end. So they were patient for the summer, but come Fall they were definitely wanting my channel to resume metal detecting. Been a tough year without collaboration trips, as I am at risk being a breast cancer survivor. Thank you for being you!

  10. Absolutely loved watching this. Your families bring us so much encouragement. I don't homestead but do have 2 rabbits and 3 chickens and a small garden. Travel and exploration are winning out over homesteading our little suburban half acre, so I pulled out our large garden this year and haven't replaced the rabbits/chickens that have passed away. We are currently working on making our backyard a naturescape for birds, squirrels, etc as the construction around here is intense and has left the wildlife no place to live. I think what I like most about the Roots & Refuge channel is that we can all learn something from you. Often I'm just simply reminded to trust the Maker. He has it all figured out already. I just need to listen and follow Him. Thanks Jess & Bri. It was great seeing you on here.
