VIDEO: The NO RULES Vegetable Gardening Method | 9 Key Lessons from a Year of Growing Intuitively

This was an experimental growing season for me as I decided to go without a gardening plan and follow a style of no rules gardening coupled with intuitive vegetable gardenig to see how the year would turn out. It is now the end of the growing seasons so it’s time to look at what happened, what the 9 key lessons I learnt were, and what that means for the next growing season. I really hope you find this video useful and next week’s video is all about Lazy Composting.

  1. Rather than clearing peas for succession planting, cut the vine at soil level and plant the next row of peas in front and let the new vines grow over the dried vines of previous pea vines.

  2. Hello sir… I new here but u got amazing stuff I had told all my friends to subscribe…..i had a problem few days back I had planted cabbage seeds they grown
Really well the steams begin to grow and they are long Steams
And they started to fall what is the reason…. Please reply…..

  3. Every year I plan a garden. Then the volunteers pop up, and because I can't bring myself to pull a desirable plant that has chosen that spot, my plans are tossed and I end up with "intuitive gardening". When seedlings are ready to be transplanted, I walk around the garden looking for vacant spots while keeping in mind that the volunteers take priority. My garden seems to have a mind of its own.

  4. Last year was a good bit of this for me. My plots are behind a large shed. For a few years I watched how the shade fell and finally actually staked out where the light gets cut short. Many times my visit would consist of me just standing and observing. Looked a bit silly but my beds are better configured now. I grew some non edible flowers this year to. A mentor questioned why I hadn't before and I had no good answer. Now my mum has had floral arrangements everyday. Lol. The little things.

  5. no dig, no rules, no Stress, no pressure…! i Love it and i wish i had tried all of it before. i always hesitated to grow a vegetable garden because of all the supposed digging and planning. i just finished my first year of growing more than three crops and it has been exactly like you described it. fun and relaxing and diaappointing at Times but overall really awesome. i took a few ideas from your video but more importantly i feel backed up in doing things the way i do Them. thanks!

  6. My style of gardening – lots of diversity, intuition, implement knowledge from research, accept failure, enjoy the benefits of fresh nutrition, create a diverse habitat for a diverse amount of creatures, and allow certain native plants to grow alongside food crops.

  7. Something else for you to consider. If you die today will you go to heaven? Have you ever lied, stolen, used God's name as a curse word (O-M-G)? According to God's law, you're guilty, your headed for hell, ignorance will not be an excuse… But wait, God loves you, he made a way out for you, God's son Jesus died paying for your sin.
God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life. John 3:16
God is warning the world. End Time prophesies are jumping off the pages of the Bible, plagues, violence, scoffers, government control, earthquakes, fires, floods, people will be lovers of themselves, money, lovers of pleasure rather than God, evil will be called good and good called evil, sexual immorality rampant adultery, fornication, abuse… the ultimate in child abuse mommies killing their babies in child sacrifice (abortion), World leaders are prepping for a One-World order, government, religion (please don’t take a number on your forehead or right hand, read Revelation a number means no heaven, and there's only one alternative) The government is also prepping to have you believe that UFO's are real… Soon the antichrist will come and fix everything, everyone will love him, he will deceive many… then the tribulation will start, life on earth will be horrific. Today if you hear God whispering to your heart please respond before it's too late. Say a humble prayer, pour your heart out to God, receive Jesus as your savior, believe God raised Jesus from the dead, and repent of your sins.

  8. Huw, you finally mentioned our worst enemy in our area. Our whole area not just our ten acres. Voles!!! Please do a video on how you combat them!! Thank you!

  9. Love your videos. This one was very interesting. Like you I think a mix of intuitive and plan is good. (For me I need a little planning of I forget where I planted something. Lol.) We have a restoration garden (completely overgrown when bought) in France and I am learning so much about gardening as part of bringing it back to life. Your videos are so very helpful in my journey. Thank you!

  10. Nature doesn't really plan either, so it makes a lot of sense to me to just be observant and figure out that way what conditions are best for which plant. Also I'm autistic and very bad at planning, so I think this is the way to go for me!
