During winter I used my whole stewed tomatoes, drained,sliced to add to my salads. Also, I grew lots of extra greens in winter just to give my chickens a treat.

People clear property for many reasons who would have a farm if we didn't,as the old saying goes you can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time. As far as me I have legally trapped s big bobcat on the 6th. Let me tell you that was some nieghborhood excitement.Anywsy that to get to this….now clearing more woods behind my house…soooo new mr. Bobcats won't take up residence for a free duck or chicken dinner..he wasn't invited!

Hi Jess. We love what you are doing and you've inspired us to begin gardening. I wanted to share my support for your decision to help small local businesses in these hard times. I ordered a sweatshirt for my wife for Christmas but not only has it not shipped, they are closed until January so I guess I will be out looking for something else. I'd like to suggest that you provide updates or encourage the company to provide updates. I haven't heard from them since the order and there is no easy way to check the status online. I know you can't control this but when you market these orders as Christmas presents, it would be nice to have an update since it appears won't be here until the new year sometime. Again, totally supportive of your efforts but wanted to share my thoughts.

so if too much nitrogen in soil will yield really leafy plants with less fruit, wouldn’t you want high nitrogen for things like kale, cabbage and lettuce? would it be less of a problem and more of a benefit for the leafy greens?
