  1. I just did this 2 days ago with my butternut squash. It is oddly satisfying to keep growing crops from seeds you've saved. Teaching my kids about that circle of life by doing this.

  2. Hi Patara! Been watching you for some time now but don’t think I’ve ever written you! Happy Thanksgiving! I just came
In to the living room with a big slice of pumpkin pie!! Turned to your channel and saw the latest video! Lol I wish I could say I made this pie but it came from the supermarket but it taste really good too. The only experience I have with making a pumpkin pie was when I was a teenager and unfortunately I didn’t know that there was baking pumpkins and carving pumpkins have you heard of such a thing? Unfortunately my first and only pumpkin pie did not come out too good because the pumpkin I used was too stringy and too watery do you use a baking pumpkin? I was told they are smaller and sweeter and have less water.

  3. I just love your personality!! You make me smile, make me laugh, with you of course!! I agree with things you say, your honey is so adorable and you both on camera, so nice to see, ALMOST makes me miss having a man, lol Thank you for being you and having a channel so I can feel like your the coolest online friend!!

  4. Very informative! Thank you! I love Learning the Cherokee words! We have Cherokee blood and some of my cousins are almost full blood (their Dad was full blood and carded Cherokee and My Aunt is what ever in the world we are). They have the full Cherokee look, which I think it is absolutely gorgeous. Sadly the language was never passed down on our side and neither on hers. (If I remember that correctly). Our side was the side that hid in the mountains of Tennessee, we believe, during the trail of tears. It is hard to know because our family would never talk about any history. Hiding something for sure. So amazing you still have it!

  5. I love that you are combining the cherokee word with the english. Almost like learning another language for us. But you do a great video. We have gardened for many years and I learn something from you everytime I watch one of your video's. Sadly, due to health reasons we haven't been able to garden the last 2 yrs and we miss it. But, you are right on track with what you are doing, keep being a prepper. It pays off some years. Been there and done that.

  6. I'm starting my own garden for the first time next year! I'm so excited to be able to save all the seeds. I also just found out your about 30 mins from me. I hope to see you in the Knoxville poultry show!

  7. I did this with zucchini this year. The only thing missing is sometimes, depending on the squash they can have a papery coating on them. It probably doesn't inhibit germination but I would pull it off before storing. 🙂

  8. I remember sitting w/my great uncle while prepping seeds he explained that heirloom seeds were so important because they could "learn" from the weather and soil and change as needed to make sure we ate and stayed healthy.

  9. Will these seeds be fruitful…. I have read there are no true pure seeds left…. that Santo Co injected too all seeds a chemical so public would have to buy new seeds every year?? My Mom always saved her seeds an had seeds of my grandmother…. but stopped seed saving in 70s ( when I was told companies an other countries started messing with our seeds ( that why old fruit trees, berry bushes, etc that are old are so pure!! ??? I don’t know… check it out… I guess I could check with UT Extension Services…
