  1. Good information, Al. I dont have a homestead but I adore the chickens with lots of feathers on top of their heads and around their feet. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

  2. Good vid mate top shelf info. You might want to work on the audio balancing though, music was a bit on the loud side during the start of the talking segment. You were easy enough to understand throughout so no biggie.

Might have to pick up some barred* rocks myself, moving to a cold area soon. Cheers for the info.

  3. Second comment to boost YouTube metrics. My favourite breed is the Buckeye. They've got a bit of Red Jungle Fowl, the ancestor of modern chooks, bred back into them. They roar sometimes. It's cool as.

My missus likes Quamby chooks. They were bred in Tasmania as a dual purpose breed by a bloke named Dr Gilstokes. He described them as 'gregarious, good foragers, disease resistant and fond of human interaction.' They can lay up to 300 eggs a year and the roosters are good eating even around 10 months of age which isn't bad. They're derived from English Sussex and American New Hampshire stock.

  4. I’ve got an assortment of chickens and I really want more!!! I’ve got barred rock,Easter egger, black Orpington, leghorn and some sort of weird rainbow chicken.
