Ive found that when I bottom water I get alot of white mold growth on my soil…?
The only problem with growing asparagus is that it's asparagus — my least favorite veg and on every spring menu. Yuck!
Wow love this, just got some asparagus crowns to try for the first time!
Okay my love! I shall plant my asparagus bed this year. You were so funny
Jess, you and your family are so relaxing and enjoyable to watch (even through the tough times) that you truly are a refuge during the turmoil of these times. You 're one of the few pockets of normality that exist these days. Turn the camera on while you wash dishes, and we'll watch.
It's great that you guys collab with artist, gardening and creative work is obviously the best couple. If I'm understanding correctly, you don't actually offer like full sticker sets?
Got me a tee and a hoodie! so excited!
Maybe a separate account for thw shop..? It would enable you to avoid having shop content feel at all out-of-place or feel any confusion about it via the separation… a channel that could grow into its own thing; something different, organically growing a different brand with the content you post there, maybe it would even be a collab thing…
Just found this channel and I love it
yay!! so happy I found you guys, I am one of the new gardeners whose hand you will be holding 🙂 So happy to learn that about asparagus, I have looking into foraging and learned that asparagus is one of those things you could find around.
I have left my for three years. This year is my first harvest year.
Asparagus and celery make a great plant to add leafy foliage to flower gardens
I grew up with asparagus. My mom is a farmer's daughter and made a significant effort to plant up our 1/3 of an acre suburban property. When they sold it last year, it went quickly because of the lush trees and established plants!
RECKLESS FOR ASPARAGUS.
DAILY CONTENT IS BACK?? I AM SO STOKED does the miah dance
As for asparagus I waited 2 years to harvest. It’s come back every year just fine since.
I've always ordered 2 year plants so I'm not sure about harvesting on two year plants. I usually put them in ground in fall and harvest the next spring.
I keep putting off planting my asparagus because I don’t know exactly where I want it. Now I feel like I just have to get it done. Thanks for the inspiration!
When we moved to this place, I also moved some of my asparagus crowns, as well as my saved seeds. I put seeds into a few pots and the crowns into a front planter. This is year 8 now and every spring, the asparagus spears make me very happy. I also really enjoy the ferns in summer.
Do you change the water? Or do you throw away the water and replace? You did say you wait until it's dried up, but can you provide more clarity?
Really like these videos
If you keep water in the tray can they get too much water??? Do the Pot sizes need to be the same in he tray or can you have the smaller pots in with the larger????
I harvested many the second year and its coming up this year which is the 4rth year very well. I wouldnt worry, its pretty hearty.
I've been bottom watering and some of my peppers have some edema. Is there a fix?
I haven't been able to purchase from Bootstrap yet, but I do similar with repurposed containers. I use containers from purchasing from the seed stores the past 4 years and sit them in take-out containers people have saved for me, in the bottom half of milk jugs, etc. Anything to aid in bottom watering.
The only asparagus bed I've had was established when I moved onto the property. But in researching, everything says you can start harvesting in the 2nd season. I still need to get a bed started here.
We are blessed by an asparagus patch that my husbands grandma planted when this was their home. It’s small for our family of 8. But the kids will eat it straight out of the ground
