VIDEO: How to Grow Garlic (Part 2) | Water, Fertilizing, Pests & Diseases

Check out Part 1 of the garlic guide if you haven’t already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rzORnBCfy4 The long-overdue part two of growing garlic is here! You’ll notice we’re more than a season out from the release of part 1, due to a TERRIBLE SKUNK that ruined my garlic crop by digging it up 3x last year at the old Epic Garden. In keeping with our name, I went next-level and planted 10 varieties of hardneck and softneck garlic in-ground for this part two where we discuss post-sprouting but pre-harvest care.

  1. Hi Kevin/Everyone, in the first video about garlic around the 10:20 part of the video Kevin picked something out of the soil and threw it away. What was it? It's driving me crazy I've been scrolling through comments for like 20 minutes on that video and still found nothing. Please help!

  2. I have successfully grown garlic for more than 50 years. I always plant on the shortest day of the year and harvest on the longest day of the year. The varieties make no difference to this technique. Thanks for your entertaining (we want big bulbs) video. ***

  3. Hey kevin! I have a client that had hundreds of hardneck garlic wildly growing in his beds (he is a bit of a hoarder and the yard was unkept when he moved in 2 years ago) i harvested some and hoping i can transplant some and eat the rest. Any tips would be amazing! Thanks!

  4. You really have your shit together and I encourage my children to watch your channel. Thank you for literally everything. Not only is it time consuming to learn and know all of this but to film it is next level

  5. A skunk! Haha! I have the neighbour's puppy rolling over delicate plants, pulling them out of the ground and stealing my equipment. She's innocent, of course, and deep breath, keep going, but yes. It is certainly not fun.

About garlic: I love garlic. I also failed at growing it, while successfully growing everything else. I'm going to watch this several times and take notes. Thank you! You have such a useful and interesting. channel

  6. Watching this whole process and knowing the succeeded was so nice. I have everything ready to plant mid October here in zone 5. But my i have a family of skunks living nextdoor. So Let's see how it goes.

  7. I almost passed on viewing this video until I saw "10 Types of Garlic". I love garlic and yet I've never even considered planting anything other than the grocery store cloves I picked up a few years ago and keep replanting as I harvest them. Looks like its time to stretch my garlic boundaries!

  8. I had a problem with skunks digging up my garden. After repairing and replanting 3x, I put light weight bird netting down, and planted in holes in cut. The skunk dug a little, but when it hit the bird netting it seemed to think it was a trap, cause it left and never returned!
