  1. Gabriel is growing so, being a good son and I can really see his Cherokee heritage in his visage. He is so blessed to have You as his Mama! Thanks for bringing us along the learning trail…

  2. I feel so proud of myself that I got my potatoes in around the same time as you this year, lol! We too, in Arkansas, can plant in February but it is typically too wet. I love how when he is covering the potatoes he's doing it all gently and I'm thinking "Oh honey, that is gonna take you forever" and you stepped in and did it just like I do and went to town! It's awesome to see teens learning, I'm teaching my teen boys this year too!

  3. I absolutely hated helping in the garden when I was a kid. I swear my parents chose the hottest days to spend out in the sun,to weed. I always thought to myself that I can't wait to grow up and never be in a garden again. But ,I left home at 16,and yes, I have gardened from age 17,on. I'm 52 now and I have loved my garden every year haha Its so rewarding on so many levels ☺

  4. Me and my dad had my daughter and 3 of my nephews out planting taters last week. Some of them thought it was fun some didn’t. One wants to be a farmer now. My daddy is a big believer in going by the almanac for planting days. We only plant on those days. Good luck with your taters.

  5. Was a kid we put out 100 lbs about a foot apart also. We used a tractor to make the rows oh Dad would put out a arce of sweet corn. I started selling corn by the road out of a old GMC truck for. .25 a dozen made $75. Ion labor day that year. My brother who was a year older picked ( Mom had to help us) but we got our school clothes and needs and new bicycles. I sold sweet corn never year grown up. Northern Central West Virginia raised on a dairy farm. Oh yes I m 63 now and can just have my back porch garden i had a ruptured brain stem aneurysm and 8x strokes 18 years ago. Enjoy your farm life. I would love to have quail

  6. My grandpa said April 15th was the day for potatoes and that's when we planted them every year and always had tons of potatoes. We lived in WVa. I love watching your videos.

  7. I really like Gabriel. He has such a nice personality and he is funny like James is. He is also respectful. Y’all have done a great job raising a good person who is not afraid to work. And he is nice looking to boot!

  8. You inspired me to get off the couch and plant Yukon golds and Kennebecks! I followed your directions, so I should have good results! Thanks Patera and Gabriel for the video. Nuna -potato! Also good to know is that potato leaves are toxic and critters (rabbits) will not eat!
