Use crates over 10 inches deep for planting large edibles like tomatoes and deep-rooting veggies like potatoes and yams.
The soil should be enriched with all the micro and macronutrients to ensure the proper growth of the vegetable plants. So fill the crates with fresh potting soil and also enrich with the appropriate quantity of compost to meet the requirement of the plants.
