This is the next best video to biscuits…lol. Truly enjoyed it. Thank you for all you do.
Love those handmade pouches
After i watched this i thought i would love to have some hand made indian bags. So i actually found a store by my house. BUT upon looking at their website it was full of things that are not consistent with my Christian faith. Crystals, chakra items, dream catchers, sage burning..etc..i was so disappointed. Patara do you know if this new age stuff infultrated the native people in current years? Because i thought most of that stuff came from Hinduism and Buddhism. I know native American people arent historically Christian but i didnt know that they adapted to the more Asian pantheistic beliefs?
I really enjoyed this. History so needs to be taught generations of young have no idea what our forefathers went through to make our country. Most do not even know where our food comes from. Most think it just appears on store shelves and will always be there.
Good job, Patera! Learning skills of the old ways!! Best ever!!!
Everyone with TN roots should join the OVTA. They are truly " keeping the story alive"! I met Steve pre-Covid at the yearly Association meeting. He has the heart of a teacher and you could picture him easily on the march to King's Mt. I recently read 2 books by Joe Epley that lay out what it was really like in the Carolinas during the Revolution. "A Passel of Hate" and "A Passel of Trouble". Civil War at its grimmest…
Hello from Texas. Thank you for sharing that. Very interesting, I'm always amazed by the things the folks that came before us figured out. Lots of talent and ingenuity.
That was fun and educational. Thanks for sharing.
What amazes me is how they figured out that char cloth and how to make it..they may of not had a lot of schooling but our ancestors were very smart people.
great video ! i really enjoyed this.
Flash in the pan patera ….. Kinda gotta nice ring to it lol
Oh, Patera, My husband and I met at a Mountain Man Rendezvous. We been together for 18 years. We have an 18 foot teepee that we sleep in. This is your heritage. Just my lifetime enjoyment. This clip makes me so happy!
Excellent!
I love this place! It would be so much fun to do all that stuff. How great are the people who spend their time teaching people the old ways? Wonderful!
Absolutely awesome!!❤
Love your channel. This was awesome.
My family is from the S.W. part of Virginia.
They farmed and had dairy cattle. My ancestors from Father's side were Irish Grandfather & Cherokee Grandmother.
From Mother's side German Grandfather & English Grandmother. They lived off the land. I was blessed to spend summers & every holiday with them learning the farm life. Unfortunately I spent my life living in the rat race. Recently I retutned to my roots of living the simple life. Wish I had stayed on the farm years ago. God bless. ♡
that old timers mind is sharp and clear….i like him
Amazing video Patara.
Thats my momma and dad. Wish I was there. I remember building that camp with dad.I carried all the big rocks and fell in the mud and dad just laughed at me .. Great times building the camp
WOW!!!
It would be a lot of fun to attend one of these.
