VIDEO: Harvesting Vegetables In August #gardening #gardeninguk

It’s August and it’s been a while since I paid a visit to the plot. Vegetables are starting to come thick and fast now, so it’s time to do some harvesting.

  1. Great way to start my day buddy!! Heading out to harvest and had time to watch this gem! Lmao….that grape vine grew that much in 2 weeks?? Lovely looking flowers…another fail of mine this year. I start of with the best intentions….but always focus on the veg and not the flowers. Onions…I often wonder about the spacing in traditional plots. Mine are space 6 across a 30" bed and 6" between the next 6. They won't be show onions….but sooo much more out of a small space than allotment spacing. Anything that stores well, I have no issues with intensive planting. Looking quite nice after a bit of weeding! Seems I've done more weeding than anything else this year lol. Have a wonderful day my brother, see you on the next one:))

  2. Hi Adam, The plot looking good, it's amazing how plants put on a spurt of growth when you are not looking! With the grape vine, I believe the laterals carrying the bunches should be stopped at two leaves beyond the bunch. Plenty of time yet for the runner beans to produce a good yield.

  3. Hi mate. The grapevine is growing wild. Massive courgette! Liked the tree lily and the lavender. Marigolds look really cheery. That pumpkin is really growing well. A good weeding session there. Some nice beans there. Take care. Nick
