  1. Patara you showed a couple of years ago the aqua cones and I see you are still using them this year. I ordered some from Gardeners Supply and I tried to reorder this year. They no longer carry them online. I have e-mailed Gardener Supply about them. I order some cones that were on Amazon, but they were not the same. Do you know of another supplier where they are of equal quality?

  2. Started Intermittent Fasting; lost over 40lbs. Highly recommend Dr. Mindy Pelz YT channel (especially pertinent to pre-menopause, post menopause et al). My dr said 'farm chores are not exercise – you do that everyday; it's just part of your routine; for you, that's not exercise'. You HAVE to exercise above and beyond your farm chores – get your heart pumping.

  3. Just headed over to order those two smoothie blends. My son and two Granddaughters live with me and I want to be here as they grow. However, since my husband passed a couple of years ago, I just hadn't been motivated. For some reason, this video got to me and, though I can't run, I can certainly get outside and at least walk. I do have the oatmeal most mornings (mix of steel cut oats, muesli, 3 seed blend, crunchy almond butter, cinn., honey and blueberries or bananas) and it's delish. The rest of the day, however, is a problem (ha). I do like the idea of a weekly video update and wish you success in your 5K.

  4. Stopped running three years ago due to feet problems.
    But have begun walking with my husband this summer for exercise and quality time together.
    I’m hoping to get back to running soon.

  5. In 2019 for semi-annual doctor visit he told me that he was giving me perscriptions for the "Big 3". I was shocked and refused them. After chatting he gave me six months to loose 20 pounds. I started with the 3 teaspoons of sugar that I put in my coffee each morning. The first week I cut back to 2 teaspoons in a cup then the next week reduced it to 1.5 then the next week reduced it to 1 teaspoon per cup. One morning the sugar bowl was empty and it still is. I went back to the doctor in January 2020. I had lost 22 pounds. Then the pandemic hit here in March 2020. Since I could not go, I got busy gardening. I live in the city and have 3 raised cinderblock beds that ate 4 ft wide by 30 ft long. I have canned 42 quarts and 16 pints of green beans. Yes dear girl, we love Mountaineer half runners. I have lost 15 more pounds. I suffer from Neurophy and vertigo. I have steel t-post down the raised beds to hold onto. I also have 5 old Bantams that help with the garden and 3 Barnfelders. I have learned to adapt and #PressOnRegardless. I am also 75+ and sending love to you and yours.

  6. I really needed this reminder, as I'm sitting here eating a couple oreos and milk (being honest). I've totally let myself go because I've been focusing on my family with health issues, (my son just had a kidney transplant on Monday). I'm not a pop drinker either. I love smoothies! I make my own homemade yogurt and when I make mine I have banana, strawberries, blueberries, frozen cube of cucumber puree-from my garden from last year, (you need to try adding some to your smoothie if you haven't because it is so refreshing. I also add some spinach powder for extra nutrition. I know I'm eating more veggies now that they are coming in from my garden, but I need to sit down and figure out what other changes I need to make. I totally agree with what you said about heart, soul, mind and body. When one is off, it messes with you and I don't want it to anymore. I have too much to do. Love you Patera! You can do it!!

  8. I've not drank soda in years, and "Diet" soda has a nasty aftertaste … so that's out of the question. I've gone to drinking Clear America beverage (Walmart brand) that has zero sugar/calories/caffeine/sodium per serving. It has the best flavor(my opinion)of any of the other same type beverages, and you can get it(1liter) for a song! I used to drink a whole pot(or more) of coffee a day, but now I'm down to 1.5 – 2 cups a day, and I make sure that I drink it before noon. I hope to be hitting the woods trails soon ( I do not like "pounding the pavement" at all. Did way too much of that when I was younger. Anything we can do to improve is better than nothing. I prefer to run, as apposed to walking …. but that I would have to build up to very slowly due to health issues beyond my control. I've been a hardcore runner/hiker/cross country skier for most of my life, but now I'm relegated to slowing down … which doesn't mean "stop". I like that cherry pitting doodad, and I think smoothies are on the horizon for me as well. Take care, and let us know your progress.

  9. Have cut out all sugar and white flour products in October of last year and lost over 50 pounds in 6 months without starving. Feels so much better. You go girl!

  11. I drink one cup of coffee a day but I buy organic coffee beans and grind them myself. I use coconut sugar and Nut Pods creamer. I use to drink several cups a day but that is no longer and hasn't been in over two years. You're right about cutting out sugar. Once you do and try to eat something sweet, uh no! I can't do it and it makes my stomach churn. Soda was never a thing for me so I don't have that struggle. Thank you for your videos and they inspire me to more for my health as well.
