Been cooking in mine for 20 years and I even do my canning on it with an All American canner.
Use a dremmel to cut down the pulls. Fred was crazy. I’m still waiting for my yard to drain into the pond. And we weren’t even in the direct path. We found out a week or so before that our septic field needs to be extended too.
I love your new home! Wish that I could take the grand tour. Blessings to you all!
The intense heat from cast iron can crack the glass, it happened to me so be careful.
Why don't you just buy a set of SS cookware and leave it in the house when you guys finally build something. Especially if you're gonna use it as a guest house.
Get a golf cart!
You can swap it out for a gas stove top. It's a little bit of work, but worth it.
Good way to see where to build swales to harvest the rain.
Love your videos and look forward to more episodes of Wilder Still on the Abundance network. But please control your hair! It's distracting when you're pushing it away every other minute.
My daughter only cooks with cast iron on her flat top stove. She had no problem
Are those rolls of cattle panel ? Where did u get them? I could only find it in flat shortish sections.
Building a story-line, a storm… a bad time in-between, just before reaching some good or great…. that's Hollywood on crack…. YouTube content I'm OK with it right now… your just getting what nature gives yuh… you don't need rain or wind machines or fake Green Aliens.. Justin & family are just fine for now.. keep posting and if we smell BS,, you will know
Be sure to keep an on the news for an awesome sight. When a hurricane is set without much doubt to land on the SC/Georgia coast the governor will give the word to reverse traffic on Interstate 26 so everyone will be westbound. It's a coordinated effort that never ceases to amaze me.
I knew a girl in HS named Wendy who looked JUST like you. Beautiful smile that looked exactly like yours. Nose was similar, hair was similar. Wow. Was your name Wendy at one point? She was very cute. Thus, so are you by extension. Very pretty smile and beautiful teeth.
I have been in my house for over 20 years. I had a drop in stove with a glass cook top for most of that. I now have a center island glass cook top (after our remodel). ALL I use is cast iron. No problems! I can see if you dropped it but really (probably dropping one tomorrow, lol).
I have a flat top range and we use our cast iron all of the time.
Hurricane Harry is due to hit the east coast. You might be seeing water from it which will be quite heavy for a little while. Ceramic cooktop cleaner is what we use for our new glass top electric stove.
You can use electrician's wire strippers can cut the knob stems off. Just screw it into the threaded hole and lop it off.
Can you tell me what it took to get you to get your modular home on the land you and in the spot you and to hook it up to electric and water just trying to see if it's something we want to do
I have never had issues with my cast iron on flattop! I do not love the flattop, but it works.
Suggestion: a No.2 driveway gravel base and no3 gravel ontop to the house would be beneficial (dimension of gravel laying would be as wide as your truck with a trailer at the back) along where the water goes to the pond, dig a trench…to the pond.. and a PE or farm grade concrete Culvert pipe will do nicely for the rain water not drenching your driveway… (apply for Starlink Satellite internet if you haven't already) Stay safe, regards from Singapore, GOD BLESS.
You have a river in your backyard! I've had 3 cooktops over the years. My favorite was a gas cooktop with a glass surface. Easy to keep clean if you stay on top of it. The cooktop had iron "racks" that lift the pans up off of the glass. I did everything on it, My cast iron and a pressure canner. Read Matthew 14.
When you build the barn you should(if allowed in your area) build a rain storage system you could use the extra water for irrigation and filter some for the animals.(just an idea). Same with the house
Thank u so much for sharing ur life on here. I'm very blessed to "spend time with u" and get to learn all the things lol
I'm sitting here just a bit jealous of your kitchen…. I was jealous of of your sweet Myia kitchen…. SO I LOVE BOTH AND WOULD BE SO HAPPY WITH EITHER. Bit I have to say I miss y'alls kitchen personality. Look forward to you getting it Myia and Jessercised. So glad you got the knobs… get sweets to cut them off and make them shorter. Love the puddles… jump up and down Jess remember you puddle fun youth.
Is that your land where the clear-cut was?
Fred was my dad's name… I have just loved having him all around. He left this life 8yrs ago and I miss all his beautiful so so much. Yup, been nice. What fun puddles you have.
Watching your land drainage after a heavy storm is informative. You are doing the right thing.
