  1. That farm tour was really neat! What always makes me laugh when I'm at the grocery store though is "free range vegetarian chickens" because if your chickens are free-ranging and foraging, there's a good chance they're eating meat!

  2. The term "factory farm" is extremely offensive to large commercial farms. Animals are raised indoors in "warehouse" style barns in a lot of regions primarily for temperature control and hygiene through all different types of weather. You mentioned that you live in a very temperate climate so you are lucky but imagine having animals outdoors in negative temperatures or in scorching heat, or how about in fall standing ankle deep in mud?
Large scale commercial farms do care about the animals they are raising and most animals live decent lives free from pests, inclement weather or predators. So, it isn't all bad 🙂

  3. I cut beets in half, quarter if large, par boil in salt water, remove skin, slides right off when warn. Then slice, finish cooking in frying pan with butter. Of course wash before boiling.

  4. I love roasted beets! I never cared for them but after I learned how beneficial they are I started roasting them with a bit of olive oil, pepper, and rosemary. So good. Thanks for sharing your day with us. I'm new to your channel and find you inspiring.
