Oh my gosh that boy is so sweet! I will be trying this dish soon… thank you for sharing!
Awwww the joy of conversations with teenagers. I have a teenage girl with green hair and I definitely get the one word responses for everything as well. I couldn't get her to be quiet when she was younger. I should've enjoyed the chatter more.
I'm trying that tonight. Good to see Ben.
Wow! I have never heard of this. I eat fried green tomatoes. I from south Alabama.
Muddy Butter! He has changed (grown) so much.
Hubby and I have been watching your new adventure as we are gardeners too. Being a Pastor's wife and experiencing changes of home and circumstances in our 38 years of marriage. I see that much like plants …you are experiencing transplant shock. As you know, it is at that time that they need just a little extra care. Praying that you and your family will find that extra love and care …during your time of transplant shock. Love and prayers.
I've never really been into tomato sandwiches, but hearing you speak about them so often I made myself one with hummus and fell in love. I might even have an obsession with growing huge tomato varieties now…
Our tomato harvest is still in full swing. I keep getting surprised by how many we have this year. Granted, I have a lot more plants than I used to have, but the really wet summer seems to help. It hasn't been sunny much, though so I've had some rotten ones as well for the first time in…. five years? I'm almost at the point where I need to can them because we're running out of freezer space.
It took me two years to figure out how to make jam on an electric stove. Electric stove temp does not stay solid temp like a gas stove. I would turn temp up to reach jell point and burn the jam. Long story short I use a lot of powdered gelatin. I will be getting a new gas stove in few years. Even getting lobster pot to boiling for hot water bath takes two electric burners and all day.
I have been using my pressure canner on my glass top stove for a couple of years and have not had any problems. My best friend, who got me into canning, also uses her glass top stove for canning. I had not heard it was supposed to be a problem, but I only have a glass top stove and that is how I am going to can my food.
This tomato snack is my new obsession! I made it today from some tomatoes that were starting on their way out. This and cucumber/watermelon salad are going to be some summer go tos.
He is so cute. Will have to try those butter tomatoes.
that kid is glorious !!!
You are ok and not much different from many of us when we have an ADDICTION!!!!! LOL Your drying out a little and working on the next phase. You are doing great no DT's that I see. But, Lord have mercy upon you because I can't imagine summer without tomato tar or bean back or acid lips or whoops ate a corn worm. Love you guys and your swinging until your garden dirty again.
Jess,
Remember when the tough gets going , the tough make Rice Crispie Treats!
You guys are so cool! Thanks for sharing snip bits of your wonderful family.
I have a Frigidaire glass top stove that I purchased in 2001 and I have used my 16 qt Presto pressure cooker on many times, canning veggies and meats and have not had an issue with it. I also use a lot of cast iron pans and a cast iron Dutch oven to cook on it as well and have never had an issue. They are very strong and as long as you don’t drop a hot, heavy pan on them they will hold up just fine.
That's REALLY GOOD wow
that's funny, I catch my granddaughter swiping butter from the butter dish I keep on the counter.
I Love butter !!
He cracks me up!!! So adorable. “Brown? That’s mud!!”
I've been using cast iron my glass top plus using a pressure canner and water bath canner for 6years now. Not ever a problem.
The Sword & The Stone was one of my favorites as a kid too! ❤
Sounds yummy! Our tomatoes are finally starting to turn!
You know, last week I was really weighed down with all the terrible things happening in our world. I opened YT and thought I just want to see something NICE and this video was on my timeline. It really helped. Thanks for sharing your journey so honestly and your kids. Ben is a real blessing. Kids have no idea how they bless others just by being themselves.
