will container gardening effect the size of the tomato or other fruits the plants produce? This is my 3rd year container gardening and it has been my best yet. I am however noticing that the fruit the plant is setting is smaller than what I am accustomed to. I wasn't sure if this is because I'm used to getting everything from the supermarket (like the gigantic strawberries often found at the grocery store compared to the smaller versions typically grown at home) or if its something I'm doing wrong. I noticed I have great foliage….very green and full but I don't get a lot of fruit and the fruit is small. I use fertilizer 1x every 2 weeks. Anyway thanks for sharing your garden with us. It looks amazing! Praying one day I will have the space for a garden!

I found a hornworm like that in my garden! I hadn't been able to figure out what happened as there were no eggs with him like yours had. But this explains alot. All I found was a brownish black hornworms and I thought at first my dog had pottied in my garden. Really weird looking!
yes did a second tomatoe planting .. amazing..in northern ontario canada and so much more..i never tried this fall planting till this year..thx it works

So what are you going to do with all those peppers and tomatoes? That red banana pepper should have been saved for seeds. I don't see any okra, is that not to your liking?

FOT THE TOMATOES THIS YEAR IN MY GARDEN AND OTHER GARDEN FRIENDS….ITS BEEN A GOOD YEAR TIME FOR TOMATO GROWING! THE PLANTS ARE DYING BACK NOW IN ZONE 5 BUT THE HARVEST IS STILL PLENTIFUL. CUCUMBERS SHOWED OUT TOO. AS WELL AS OTHER VEGGIES. ITS BEEN A SUPER ABUNDANT YEAR FOR GROWING YOUR GARDEN! HAPPY HARVESTING!!

That horn worm damage on the tomato looks just like what grasshoopers are doing to mine. I must have thousands of hoppers in my garden and they are doing tons of damage. No horm worms though!
I do love a good harvest video! I definitely had my share of struggles in the garden this year. It was my first time growing both potatoes and tomatoes and neither did very well. It rained here nonstop nearly all of July and Ida took out my last surviving tomato plant a couple of weeks ago . BUT I did get a few tomatoes and potatoes and I look at it as a learning experience. Also, I had some great successes as well: I harvested over 60 shallots and garlic from my containers (it was my first year growing both); I got to eat green beans right off the plant for about a month and a half, I have several beautiful flowers in my garden that feed bees, hoverflies, butterflies and Hummingbirds and I got to watch Swallowtail and Monarch butterflies go from caterpillar to butterflies in my garden. I hadn’t seen any butterflies on this property prior to gardening. Can’t wait for the next growing season!
You mentioned that you started your early tomato seeds around July 1. Did you start the seeds indoors/outdoors or plant the seedlings? I started a couple of my "compari" seeds in May (indoors) and put them in the ground on July 3. I live on Cape Cod (zone 4/5) and started getting fruit this past week. Next year I'm planning on doing more of them. Question, do you fertilize your garlic? How often? I'll be putting them in the ground in mid Oct. Great video.
banana peppers are soooooooo much better when they are red, same with jalapenos, why dont people just let them ripen more often? i always see them green in the store also. they were very fruity tasting when i grew them last year!
Out of curiosity why were none of the tomato plants staked up like you’ve shown in past videos? I’m half way through the video and as far as I can see, they were all flopped over. Wondering if this has to do with being the end of the season or maybe I’m totally mistaken. Thanks Luke!
