VIDEO: How To Grow Broccoli At Home | SEED TO HARVEST

HOW TO GROW BROCCOLI IN CONTAINERS | FULL INFORMATION
IMPORTANT TIPS:
*Keep the pot in an area where it receives 4-5 hours of sunlight.
*Water regularly to keep the growing medium evenly moist.
*The seeds are going to germinate in 7-14 days.
*When they are 5-7 inches tall with 3-4 true leaves, transplant them to the desired pots. Use big pots for good results
*Soil mix: 60% garden soil+40% organic compost(leaf mold, cattle manure, vermi compost etc)
*Burying your broccoli plants deep into the soil helps them grow better because broccoli form roots all along any buried portion of the stem
*Broccoli requires a site with exposure to full sun (6 to 8 hours per day). Lack of sunlight may produce thin, leggy plants and subpar heads.
*Side-dress broccoli with aged manure during the time of planting and once again in midseason, when half of its growth is done.
*The perfect time to harvest is right before the broccoli flowers. Look for closed flower heads; yellow flowers mean the quality clock is already counting down, so harvest immediately.

GROWING TIME:
Broccoli is cool-season crop, so it should be started in early winter months.
September and October are the best months for seed germination

  1. The heads of my broccoli start to form then I always get little yellow flowers. Help anyone??? I mean tiny, tiny broccoli heads. Nothing worth even harvesting- then it flowers. I just can’t seem to do it right

  2. My broccoli was all leafs. Haven't gotten a single head or florette. Planted in may. 2 plants shot straight up and are really tallso that was interesting. I'll try again next year.
