Janice Pritchett makes custom stained glass in Easley, she does amazing work! From free form made from glass bottle ends to a gorgeous hummingbird 3 D one from reclaimed stained glass left on our property, we love her work! See her on Facebook! Thanks for the thought of adding it to the greenhouse, my husband is working on one from glass windows left on our property (it's only trash if you can't use it!) and one of Janice's pieces would be really lovely!
And we've done two stone patios – first in Dallas because there was a sprinkler head we didn't want to move so we just put stone around it. Here in South Carolina it was to transition the deck to the woods, seemed to call for a natural look. It's gorgeous – placing stones is hard work when they're so large and heavy, what a treat that you laid them out at the store. We bought wire wrapped pallets, it took a lot of creativity to lay them to make the most of color and pattern in the stone.
Climate change is crazy stuff lol. Loved this video with the two of you! Can’t wait to see that glass in your new greenhouse!
Now I want stain glass for my future glass greenhouse
That garden is absolutely beautiful. Like a magazine article, perhaps Better Homes and Gardens. How lovely and inspiring. The sound of his water feature is so relaxing. I would be on that porch with a good book and coffee in the evenings, soaking up the atmosphere.
I love the stained glass iris! Great find!!
A have you thought of puting a fireplace or heating in it so it can be used in winter and summer coolest or it could to hot/cold.
In big houses in Victorian house and edwardian houses the big ones orangerys as well nice you are going into the glass house history,..
Have you thought of building a walled garden they offen had glass houses around the walls and the big wall help keep away larger preditors and dear away from you crops!!!
If i hade the space i would like a walled garden!!!
ThT piece is beautiful, it'll look really good on your greenhouse!
What an amazing find! The stained glass is perfect! You were meant to have it.
“He can build anything” something about that made my heart happy
Jess, is your new book on pre-order yet?
You are right, those windows are perfect!
So glad that you were able to go to a wonderful work refuge place! That is fantastic. Love your greenhouse ideas!! I LOVE stained glass. GREAT FIND!!! Looking forward to seeing them in the glass greenhouse. What is the advantage to the glass versus a plastic one besides aesthetics?
LOVE water features! They will bring the birds. LOVE the moss as well. Not sure it will grow in FL. I love having ground cover between the slate pavers. LOVE a slate path!
I need a shirt that says “I don’t spend money, I spend time.”
Thank you for sharing Matthew with us! I must have missed the memo, but I love his gardens and the philosophy about buying small or starting from seed and watching the progress. It’s so satisfying, just like harvests when you can point to something and say “I grew that!”
chamomile looks lovely planted like that, love the stain glass x
Beautiful stain glass window!it will be fun to see it in your greenhouse in the future.
That stained glass piece is gorgeous. Happy writing.
Have you ever read Rosalind Creasy's book Edible Landscaping? She is the original guru of combining edible and pretty. Well worth reading just for the inspiration.
My grandmother had a butterfly bush in her front yard for years. She passed last year, and my sister and I took seed pods from it to grow in our yards.
I'm from Ohio and where in Ohio did Matthew pick up those stones
WOW! That iris was amazing.
