You should check out Floret Flower! She’s an expert on Zinnias!
Found your channel recently and I'm in love! For the first time we have successfully grown cherry tomatoes this year and you and other homesteading youtubers inspire me to do more. One tip I found recently from a youtuber in the UK is if you are getting close to the end of the season and want to encourage your tomatoes to turn faster pull off all the flowers. I did this with mine a week ago and it has helped immensely. You may already know this, but I saw a bunch of buds on your tomatoes so thought I would drop this here just in case.
Becky, can you please give me some advice and perspective? I have an opportunity to get a .25 acre that I’ll place a small modular home. I looked at a chart that suggested I could have 100 beds in a 25’ x 25’ if I plant 6” apart. Can you help me visualize it? Would this be a normal sized person vegetable garden? Also, can you suggest a good book or site on planning?
Becky, I would be hugging those gorgeous pumpkins too! Your garden is beautiful girl. Do you know the name of those black and red tomatoes? I would to try them for a late harvest of tomatoes.
(Pam here)….I’m obsessed with your kitchen layout with the pantry and your dining room….I would love to see a drawn floor plan of it…the wall of cabinets…LOVE!! And to be able to wheel your wheelbarrow of goodies right into the house is NUTS to me!!! But if you can draw out your floor plan I would love to create a home plan with some of the attributes of your ‘work space’. I am an amateur architect….when friends build houses I go through their plans and tweak them for function, flow, easier upkeep and visual appeal.
I was so hoping I'd be able to grow pumpkins this year, alas… maybe next year. Yours are beautiful!! Keep the videos coming! If you're doing a thrift video, I can't recommend Retails on 4th plain enough. I find all the best things there and proceeds go to SW Washington Humane Society.
One of my favorite videos!
With all the produce on your table do you have fruit fly??? If so how do you get red of them??? Thanks for your help ! ! !
Your videos brighten my day! Thank you for sharing!
You brought back memories of my father and his HUGE field of fresh produce. He was an experimental farmer for Birdseye for forty years so we always had lots of fresh and frozen produce all year long. Hate unloading the dishwasher when you have dirty dishes to put in it? With our five children that's why we got a second dishwasher and sink. Makes life easier, I'll tell you!
So I just watched your video trying to gather up your seeds from pods I saw in another clip of someone else's I can't reference right now that they used a Rubbermaid tub a Big Ben put all that stuff in there and then stepped around on it
Love the pumpkins they are actually to pretty to pick.
I wish you were my next door neighbor. We would have a blast!!!
Have you found the best site to figure out which plants (herbs, and or flowers, Vegis and fruits) grow best in which zone?
Oh my gosh I feel you! I was so excited to harvest my butternut squash this year and I was so excited about my pumpkins and watermelons but unfortunately deer got to them when I was out of town for a couple days and my neighbor that Gardens sprayed her whole garden so I had a rapid infestation of squash bugs that were to have it over a few days so I completely get it it is just an amazing feeling growing your own fruits and vegetables such a sense of accomplishment and blessings
You are dynamic. So real. Love and enjoy watching your videos
Did I somehow miss a video of you harvesting corn?!? Lol
How do you keep pests from attacking your garden? I've been battling (in Florida) large grasshoppers for 2 years and last year my tomatoes were swamped by squash bugs, I think they were squash bugs anyway. . . HELP! Thanks in advance.
Yes a thrift with me video would be so sweet !
Your channel is SUCH an inspiration for me! I'm starting my very first homestead garden in 2022 and I hope my experience comes close to this. Garden Goals, certainly.
Winter squash is my all time favorite!
That’s a turbin squash
Some of those pumpkins are so orange!
OMG when you hugged that pumpkin it so reminded me of myself when I picked my first watermelon that I had grown this year. I couldn't believe I had grown that! It truly is a wonderful feeling and yes, quite emotional lol. You are just too cute and I love watching your channel. Thanks for all of the info you share fore everyone!
