  1. My Mom’s Champion Doberman Pinscher, Companion Dog would go with us as we visited my Dad’s Aunt Ann. She had cows and the first thing Ericka would do was find a fresh green cow patty and roll in it. Normally she was an indoor dog, but after that a bath was always in her future prior to going back in.

Also I told my daughter we never use the “S” words like stupid.

  2. I found y’all from abundance plus. We are moving from North Myrtle Beach to 60 acres in Sharon, SC right before Christmas. This is our first homestead attempt. I’m glad I found someone so close to follow because we have no idea what we are doing but we are ready to jump in and want to be ready for several animals and a garden by spring.

  3. Sometimes, people who have zero experience might see something in a new way that people with generations of experience might not have thought of before. There's room for everyone in such a wonderful life.

  4. Ok, so I have a question. Your eggs you just gathered looked clean so that’s one question I what could i do to have cleaner eggs like yours? And the big question I have is how could I have eggs that don’t have trash them? I have a neighbor that provides us with eggs and they are so nasty and I have cracked 8 eggs with trash in them only 4 eggs were ok. I’m not talking blood it is some kind of trash. I want to get chickens if I can the eggs that are cleaner and less trash. Surly this s possible? Love to see a video on chickens 101?

  5. I had a friend plant her garlic as a whole bulb rather than cloves the first time last year. I apologized after I quit laughing because that wasn't fair. I grew up around that information. I wasn't immersed with it but I learned enough to start researching it myself.

  6. Love watching your show and I especially enjoy Wilder Still. I watched the first episode many times as your message really resonated with me, my family just moved to a new property! Random question. What brand of automatic coop door do you have on the chick shaw? I have bought one before but it stopped working after a few weeks. Thank you for the information.

  7. Ebay purchases also help those of us who are full time ebayers!! Thanks you for looking for second hand items on ebay – that literally puts food on my table (as do my cattle panel arches 🙂 )

  8. You claim to not be a gardening expert, but you are MY gardening expert. Now my knowledge base has grown enough to allow me to be come the "expert" to some of my suburban neighbors starting backyard gardens. Thank you for providing such a welcoming environment on your channel ❤️

  9. I agree with Pamela! You are an extraordinary teacher with such a wise and warm heart reaching out to all of us. Thank you for walking the path ahead of us and being willing to share successes, mistakes, heartaches, miracles, and great advice with honesty and integrity. I feel so blessed to have found Roots and Refuge!

  10. Thank you for encouraging the questions for people at all levels. I definitely consider myself a beginner gardener and even I have given a ton of knowledge to people who have less knowledge than me. And sharing with people I learn so many things as well. I love this channel because of your genuine encouragement and teaching and your realness while doing it.

  11. thank you for the inspiration this morning, it's just what I needed. To know that reading and researching and watching while waiting to find our place is not time that I'm wasting, thank you

  12. LOL, just I made my first pocket omelette the other day and I couldn't wait to go post on Facebook that I had arrived finally as a chicken keeper! I laughed so hard! I had picked up a late day egg in my jacket pocket and then forgot about it and hung my jacket on the back of my office chair. The next morning I did all of my chores without breaking that stupid egg but on the way back to the trailer I was wrestling and playing with my service dog Grimm, acting like he was a wild crazy Steed haha. That did it!
