VIDEO: Freezing At Our Last Farmers Market of the Year | Halloween

It’s Halloween, which is also our last farmers market of the year. This week the kids help us decorate the roadside stand in spooky decor, and Ian and Serina harvest through the rain on cold autumn days, the lettuce, kale, and swiss chard that we bring down to the market look and taste amazing. At the farmers market we put on our costumes, pretending we are getting married one more time, but this time with a twist as it’s Ian in the wedding dress and Serina in her suit. After the market it’s time to go trick or treating with the kids, going door to door looking for candy.

If you want an even spookier experience, check out our video titled

  1. consider scuba finger glovers , they come in different material thickness . I learn to dive in the great lakes in Michigan . O think they will change your winter harvesting world . Honest , buy 2 pairs , so you both get the warm digits. 🙂

  2. I think I shared with you about 2 years ago, how a man just grew oriental vegs, sold to that kind of resturant in NYC. He had a small plot on Long Isand but he profited 6 grand in a short season. Bok choi, snow peas etc. The chefs paid cash. Whatever you have left over, you may be able to sell by making some canvass calls, reach out and maybe you can make some extra cash. It won't be as much as your retail, market price but you will likely get a decent amount. Here's to having a last go of it. I sure hope you don't let go of what you have built up, in customer base and their satisfaction. See you soon.

  3. not to scare you or anything. but your health issue can very much come from the new vaccine. make sure you had D-dimer scan done to check blood clots. Ct, or CAT wont catch micro clots. D-dimer tends to show micro clots in vein due to the vaccine, very much known side effect, not talked about . you have to ask for D-dimer. most Docs dont even have a clue or not allowed to talk about it without getting kicked out the college. no joke.
    hope you will feel better.

  4. If you were to continue veggies next year I note that your wash station is far, so perhaps bring it closer to the place you pack, reduce your steps… that you might enjoy a hand free wash station, gloves for working in the water would be good. Divers have good gear for that. Happy winding down and preparing season to you.

  5. Great video! I'm sorry that the sales season is over, but now you can dedicate yourself to planning for the next season. I recommend you take a look at the Common Farm Flowers channel. There you can find wonderful tips and techniques for making bouquets for sale.

  6. Love how Ian was taking care of the stand in the dress XD Serena you should make dried flower wreaths, that would be beautiful!
I hope you keep on publishing videos during winter 🙂
