VIDEO: Flowers After A Freeze Save This Fall Market Day

All the flowers have frozen, and all the summer crops are gone. Will this fall market be our worst market ever? Not if we can put together some great cut flower bouquets still! Join Ian at the farmers market, and Serina as she shares what flowers survived a freeze on the flower farm.

  1. I might have missed this but do you grow tatsoi by chance? And I've seen people using the ornamental cabbage thingies (lol) for flower arranging by taking off outer leaves. I wonder how long they might last in fall to winter weather?

  2. Your dried flowers look amazing! I'd love to see a video on all the varieties you have and if there's anything special you do with them while drying. Also, your lettuce looks so perfect it looks fake! As always, well done.

  3. Great to watch your videos, your bouquets are as good as summer ,and will be greatly appreciated at this time of year and your veg always look so good, wish I could buy them here in the UK.Good luck you work so hard you really deserve to succeed.

  4. I know it's hard to see the mixed greens in compostable bags but it would be great for the environment… Maybe patrons can pack their own bags? Then they could see the big mixed box beforehand?

  5. Don't forget to make a note of where the cosmos survived the frost, and if the frost flowed away from there because of terrain or surrounding plants. Next year you'll know the best place to plan some late survivors, and where to throw some extra frost netting.

  6. Not sure what the Canadian palette is like but I’m curious why you don’t have winter root veg like turnip, swede, parsnip along with brussel sprouts all winter tough and even better after a frost. Put a couple of carrots with a turnip, swede parsnip with an onion, garlic and a chilli for a winter soup mix or stew base perfect for a winter warmer. Good luck
