Salt Lake is in. Valley. The mountains are the Rocky Mountains and they surround you. If you had visited a few weeks later you would have seen a beautiful flower display in all the displays near the Temple. Many of the Morman owned businesses are closed on Monday. They were previously closed on Sunday. By having Sunday/Monday closed their employees have 2days off in a row. Nice for retail workers especially.
