Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂 #onion #homestead #gardening

  1. Just planted my Texas Granex onion starts in USA South Louisiana! Similar climate to yours but opposite hemisphere? It’s entering our winter here. We are getting 80F temps still here end of December. That’s hotter than usual.

  2. Another great video Mark, I've been watching your videos for a good 6 or so years now and I gotta say I really admire everything you've accomplished and you positive attitude and outlook on life. I'm sure looking forward to seeing all the great things the future has in store for you as you deserve the best. Good luck.

  3. Hey Mark! Ray here, from Houston, TX. When do you usually make live streams? Also have you thought about harvesting honey, vanilla, a variety of nuts or seeds for snacks? I was eating a bowl of vanilla almond cereal at thought maybe you could show us how to make a container of cereal. Im eating "RX Cereal" 11g. protein, if you want to reference exactly what i was interested in you showing us. I would like to see you grow food and make more restaurant style dishes.

  4. I was just gifted a small blueberry bush and need some advice. It's in a small pot and I have a big pot to transplant into. Im in zone 7 so Its going to be cold for a while. Should I go ahead and transplant the blueberry bush, and put the freshly transplanted bush out through winter? Do I have any other options? Love the videos, giving me great ideas for the garden
