  1. I have this same greenhouse. It lives in a corner of my unheated basement on a wool pad and turf carpet. I put heating pads on thermostats and grow lights in it. Works great.

  2. I have one just like this. We put it against the house on paver stones. We took garden clamps/staples and put it on the bottom legs of the green house into the ground. It lasted me 2 solid years before the plastic cracked and ripped in the Alabama sun. We have serious winds during tornado season and it withheld that. I didn't heat mine I wasn't comfortable with the heat lamp being on right outside my sons bedroom. Ben's little face he was so happy about his garden boy sized greenhouse.

  3. Plant Abundance has a neat trick to not only solving it from going airborne but also heating with the same solution to weighting the green house down. He also had a bonus ideas definitely go and check him out.

  4. I'm in Colorado (5b) and actually had this exact same greenhouse and the short one in my suburban backyard attached to my fence. It survived a week before it ripped quickly and it did NOT stay warm in there by any standard. It blew away many times and I unfortunately ended up just using it as a storage for my extra pots, soil and gardening gloves and tools. I hope it works for you and that Miah is able to figure out ways to keep it safe and usable, but I would personally NOT recommend this or the short one as they both had the same issues

  5. For a small scale option people might already have on hand!! I am running with her lettuce greenhouse idea from a few years ago for my seeds this year. If y'all remember the vid where she turned the plastic storage bin upside down. I have a watering tray sat on top of the upturned lid, with my little pots on top of there and then the bin on top. I successfully started tomato seeds outside at the start of Feb, and they have made it through a frost. So far so good! It has been very nice to not bother with indoor grow setup/lights this year

  6. We have had the worst weather over the past few weeks and you are right – water diversion has been an absolute PITA for us also!! And the ground is not getting dry enough before the next big rain comes!!

  7. I have the exact same one you got – had it for 3 years, I disassemble it every year when it's not needed. I put t-posts at the corners and BCA on the floor, it handled light frost and high winds. Tip – you can use a couple of long lasting candles (the type that are in a jar) during the very cold nights, it really helps with keeping the temperatures high inside.

  8. Have you guys considered putting in some rain gardens to help divert the water? They are a big thing here in the PNW but could be totally helpful for those big rain storms you guys get down there!

  9. We bought this last year with a clear cover and we had trouble with heat regulation, pinning it down and it tearing at the zippers. The cover was completely destroyed after I season and I paid $199 at Home Depot. If we can remake the cover with poly or tarp, maybe the frame will have been worth it.

  10. Have you done the 2nd part to this – I live in a high wind area with a smaller yard and i am interested to see what you do for support. Love all the comments and suggestions on other ways to "keep a greenhouse down" 🙂

  11. If I was to time Miah on how long It took Him to put that green house together I would say don.t blink because you would miss It and I do agree on a lot of the points you mentioned about that green house the wind will pick It up and throw It Into the next county and as fare as It holding heat yes It does hold In some If you put It In full sun when I had one just like that one I took stepping stones and placed them down on the very bottom seed racks and tied the green house to something sturdy and so fare It did ok In the wind anyway I hope everything goes well with your see starting

  12. Thank you for being so freaking real on your channel! I'm so sick of "influencers" and people who act like their homes, lives, etc are so perfect. Your channel is just like visiting a friend. Thanks!

  13. When I start seeds the last frost date is important. This year its listed for 4 April in my zip code. But I use Good Friday, 15 April this year. I use that date to plan my seed starting.

  14. I have a question- I'm hoping Jess or someone more experienced can help-

When starting seeds in a temporary greenhouse like this- how can you make sure your seedlings don't get too leggy? Will they really get enough light in there without supplementing a light source? Would you also need a fan in here to make sure that air is circulated and stems are strengthened? How would you accomplish this? drop cord and a box fan? Oscillating fan? Would that make it too cool if you're already unsure about warmth?

I'm trying to decide between rigging some sort of light and shelf unit in my house, or getting one of these temporary greenhouses for seed starting. I have plans for a lean-to greenhouse, so this would need to last two springs, possibly 3. I'm in upstate South Carolina with a last frost date of April 1, but the last few years have brought late rogue heavy freezes around that week so I'm not aiming for outside planting until the end of April. That gives me time to decide… but I do need to decide!

  15. Hi Jess, My wonderful husband just finished a window greenhouse for me . I so proud of his talent !! We've been together for 45 years and he still surprises me. How can I get some pictures to you ? I watch you daily and I'd love to share…… Kim

  16. I had that same greenhouse and put it right up against the house to keep it safe from the wind. That worked for a couple storms but eventually it still blew over. Before that happened though it rained and the rain pooled on the top and were too heavy for the frame to hold and it bent all over and was pretty dead by the time the wind came and finished it off.
