Great comments. I originally thought 1 year was more than enough. After reading that it took 18 months for the hyperinflation in Germany to work it's way through the system, I decided we needed 1.5 to 2 years. After spending the last 6-8 months, we are basically ready to go for 2 years now. There are always new things you think of and we are moving forward with improvements. I am sure if we have a SHTF event everyone will realize something is missing from their preps. The people that are not prepared will have issues. Those that were properly prepared will be disappointed that they forgot whatever it is they forgot.

Prior to the dropping of the bioweapon called Covid, FEMA recommended 6months food supply. People need to be aware that if things ever get better, it will take months or better to restore what we have lost. Don't stop. Keep moving forward. God help us all!

People should always be making sure they have enough. A little each time you go to the store. At least for your family for 16 months or more is nice. But hoarding is so all called for. I know you aren't talking about hoarding.Still add each time you go to the store.
Panic buying is still buying. Regardless those who panic buy are the ones who refuse to prepare 2 years ago and make it hard for everyone else.
The Bible speaks at length about "doing your due diligence". And it also speaks about what to do with "psychics". Time to stock up, not only on stuff, but on capabilities and self-sufficiency.

If you are prepared, then you don't need to worry or fear. No one can be 100% prepared, but if you've done the best you can with the finances you have, then it's okay to say, Lord, I've done all I humanly can, so I trust you for the rest. Actually, I should say I trusted the Lord when he led me to prep, when he provided the resources, when he gave me guidance and strength to prepare so now there is no worry or fear. I have a friend who does not prep saying that the Lord will provide which irritates me. The Lord is currently providing food in the stores for us to use to prepare for the days the shelves are empty. Also, if my pantry is full, then I won't be competing for scarce supplies when/if the SHTF in a major way.
If those who prepare are wrong then no harm no foul. If those who prepare are right….then the rest are screwed! If those who didn't prepare b4 the great toilet paper shortage and the light bulb didn't turn on then, there is no learning for them. One of the reasons we have shortages now is because the thing turned a lot of people into preppers like our grandparents were after WWII.

I'm working on this a little each shopping trip! I have quite a bit already, but I'm constantly adding to it. And even more so now that gasoline prices and grocery prices are soaring! I believe we are facing some hard times ahead!
Going to have to let the chicken's out all day and not feed them. When I had chicken's on my farm they learn to run and eat bugs. I feel you on feed it added then and that changed.
