  1. Patera is the only youtuber who could be selling merch that says I bet you a sprinkled donut but instead would never and tell you, you'd better be buying some food for your family instead with that money.

  2. Just locked in my natural gas price per therm – last year was locked in at 0.3567 lowest I could get for this year (checked 8 companies) 0.9765 – that is more than double – cant imagine what heat bill will look like this winter 🙁

  3. I just checked my email before I left the office and thought I'd share with everyone what I received. Often we get different offers for CE courses and they are usually scheduled out several weeks or months. This particular email I received today was as an invitation to attend a course for DISASTER PREPAREDNESS, teaching on how our dental office would handle a national disaster. And it is scheduled for next week. This made me sit straight up…and then I went shopping. Stocking up even more.

  4. Nothing more I can do. When it's over, it's over. I have accepted I probably won't be here this time next year. It's been a nice run but it's coming to an end. Peace out.

  5. Taking a short break from planting Garden 2022. I just took the hit for you guys and now I will have to disinfect my poor computer. I just viewed a vid from CNBC (gak) entitled *Will The U.S. Face A Food Shortage*? I wanted, well, I didn't want to really, but I felt it…well, I was curious as to their take. The fact that CNBC even knows there may be a food shortage was intriguing. Here is the gist: There will be no food shortage of bread. Yes, maybe some other stuff. They didn't say what. According to them it's mostly due to Russia and Ukraine. Also due to Global Weather Change. And covid. No mention of the planned policies that put us in this fix, naturally. Someone else's fault.

According to CNBC food prices may rise only as high as 4 to 5% by year's end. That's a relief. And one of the experts said if fertilizer prices rise, well, there could be a bit of a problem with that. One said we should stop turning soybeans into diesel. (Same guy prolly said we SHOULD turn soy into diesel at one point.) He didn't allow as how less diesel (since we no longer pump oil from the ground) will affect whatever. Also didn't allow what to do with the windfall of soy beans. Soylent Green perhaps?

So there you have it. Don't worry. Be happy. Who you gonna believe? Fake news or your grocery bill? The audience for that stuff is firmly in the Denial Club. Church up. Food up.

  6. Walmart always had trays of chicken breast for $1.99 a pound, and I got a tray last week. Yesterday they were $2.28 a pound. I grabbed one. There were only 4 left. I vacuum packed them. Up, Up, Up……$$$$. Inflation 8.5%? No. More like 20-25%.

  7. I"m starting to feel like the crazy cat lady with all the cans and bags of beans! I look at what I've got and think it's gotta be good enough, but then there's another fertilizer plant fire, or news that some country's crops are down 50%, etc. The garden is going to be fun this year! I'm happy with how early I started peppers and tomatoes.

  8. We have every one of our jerry cans full….my freezer is full … my mini pony has lots of bags of food…cats, and dog has food…my shelves are full. I also can survive and support my neighbors as well. Today at the grocery store we struck up a conversation with a nice lady…and my husband ask her if she was stocking up? She gave us a long stare and said "Well, what for?" I thought you were exaggerating…. OH BOY!!! My jaw dropped to the ground….we didn't say much more.
