I thought of you when I went into my normal Aldi yesterday…. the shelves were stuffed, employees were plentiful, less tags on prices but they were helpful when you asked about prices, ALSO I was astonished at how much stuff they were putting on clearance to get rid of it, aisles were clogged with palletloads of reduced items!…. I would have loved, if things were "normal" to buy a handful of things including a cute little cabinet that was 50% off, but I was in there strictly for long term food and goods (bigger shoes for the kids, mainly) to stock up for later so I didn't partake.
I witnessed an elderly man in front of me on line who berated the checkout guy for the lack of posted prices and what he perceived as rudeness from employees running everywhere checking prices for everyone at once…. once the man was gone I told the kid that I understood the store's position and praised that they were trying to get listed prices under control. He made one of the employees get 3 cans of three-bean salad for me bc I didn't grab for fear of being over budget with no price tag on the shelf. He did say that was literally what she was there to do that day while they tried to keep other things under control…. it was an organized chaos in there!
I was proud of myself for being exactly on budget!

I live in a tourist area. Our first official weekend of summer is Memorial Day weekend. We won’t see a change til that weekend. I’m stressing because I’m a vendor. I work events and farmers markets from the last weekend of May til Columbus Day weekend. While I prep the rest of the year for this time. I’ve expanded my items for more variety in hopes to guarantee sales. But if the tourists don’t come then there is no sales. The only thing I know is if I don’t sell it then we can eat it.

Staying busy over here in west TN. Just got home from walmart and picked up more for the pantry. Scored some reduced meat to put in freezer. Hubby and I will finish chicken coop and run this weekend so we can put our girls in it. We have 6 chicks 5 weeks old. So glad hubby agreed to let me get them!

There is one and only one goal here. To keep the useless eaters in their homes trapped so they cannot go anywhere and use up all the resources of the precious elite/aristocracy so that they can have us peons out of their way and not using up all of THEIR precious resources. Keept them locked in their homes with a virus, keep them locked in their homes with inflation, keep them locked in their homes with outrageous gas prices. Next thing you know there will be national guard checkpoionts for any poor soul who wants to get around by using a bicycle.

Gasoline prices are stopping lake activity nationwide. California is $6.00 + ouch. Bicycles, skateboards,
jet airplanes use very little fuel.
I also noticed on my road trip through Missouri and Nebraska that farm fields were not being planted. Nothing. Only some winter wheat up but nothing else happening. Yikes.

I've been seeing a lot of boats and second cars for sale where we live at in Illinois. Gas is also up to $4.96/gallon. I won't be doing a lot of traveling this summer- have to give up seeing my son graduate from AF Basic training in San Antonio because of the prices- he won't be graduating from his High School either because he leaves 2 days before the ceremony.
I dug up potatoes just like those today. Time for dinner! Thanks for all of the encouragement.
People's ego's are deflating…We live near a large lake and we have noticed the same thing. Interesting.
