Wasn't it 38 million killed because some in their flock "had" it, not that ALL 38 million "had" it?? Edited to say; my thoughts was "they say" find one sick, all must be killed. I bet soon those "they" people will say if it is found in certain state, all poultry will be killed. "They" keep saying only in backyard farming which makes me also think soon also they will ban the backyard/small farmer for growing and having animals.jmho

I saved over several hundred seeds from my Lacinato kale that managed to overwinter in my area and continue to produce. I'm looking forward to saving more seeds and building up a personal catalog of saved seeds.

Not all the millions of birds tested positive. They were killed because of the risk of spread.
First part of the video is the setup for the movie Interstellar.
Second part can actually be applied to today's health care industry: make medicines for our diseases instead of examining the cause of the disease and fix the cause (ex diabetes medicine is metformin, but the cause would be fixing your diet)
How about hybrids? They would be the same since they also provide bio diversity. New varieties, but important to save the old varieties also
I don't disagree with you but the state of Michigan is asking to not use bird feeders to not spread avian flu. The idea is that one bird can infect many flocks although it is unlikely. My point is that the state is taking every precaution to not spread this flu
Human intervention is the source of most problems. Period.

This year we've been very lucky to get some rabbit manure, old chicken manure and worm castings from a bait company. Should be a lush, healthy garden this year.
Can you show how to save the harder, smaller seeds like basil and lettuce? I’d appreciate it. Even my seeds from 2020 germinated! I was so happy. My giant crimson seeds that I got from you sprouted too. Here’s to saving more seeds as long as the Lord gives me breath.
