Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm
Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.
There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

Wow! Mane N Tail! What a blast from the past.
What happen to the horse
I still use Mane & Tail! ROFL
Out of order or not, you have such a beautiful way of presenting your lifestyle. ❤️
I'm curious…have you considered spreading around beneficial nematodes to help control the flies?
You guys are growing so quickly!
What's not to love?!?!
I think we need to see a picture of you with dreads…just staying
Mane and tail is awesome!
Wes is so right you bond with some horses just like you really bons with some dogs! That is literally the same type of relationship!
Beautiful to see the love and appreciation you all have for animals.
I wanna see a photo of you in dredlocks
For her mane I would get show sheen. It will make it so much easier to comb the dreads out. And the cream you have looks lovely…SWAT would probably also work just fine if you ran out. Her breathing sounds a little off to me in this video. No history of roaring right? Hopefully just a side effect of that blocked tear duct. Definitely important to treat that sooner than later. I have my fingers crossed she doesn't have a fever. Last but not least it's good to have an emergency kit in the barn, with a thermometer and a stethoscope and also some banamine and iodine.
If the mane & tail doesn’t work try WD-40. That’s what we use and it works well.
Jess…there's a pig at the Lexington County Animal shelter… he needs yall!
Mane n Tail only shampoo I used when my hair was long!!!!
Dear Jess,
I Wanted to (finally) say congratulations to you on the new property and all the success you've had.
I have to admit, ive stopped watching since you started charging for information and havent seen the new property since you started moving. It kinda felt like you didnt appreciate everything that you have been given from your followers.
It makes me feel bad, but thats how I feel. Ill keep prayong on it.
Blessings to you and the family
Use a matt comb on her main. It cuts through her main to get through the dreads.
Jess, We THANK YOU for sharing, even if it's choppy or not as structures as you are used to. So no need to apologize. It's perfect for the lifestyle and season of exponential growth. We are blessed with your content and shares, which are ALL valuable.
