Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.

There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

  1. My sister gave me cucumber, squash varieties and tomato seeds from 2013 and they all sprouted. Always try to sprout your seeds! Now I have 43 tomato starts and can only plant 20 in my space. I'll donate to my local neighborhood.

  2. I see that there are organic seeds and non-organic seeds. I grow an organic garden, but what's the impact of a non-organic seed in the garden? Do the chemicals seep into the seeds and the future plant?

  3. I am waiting on my package of seeds from them as well that I ordered during the sale. I got the Brightest Brilliant Rainbow Quinoa Seeds to try too and am exited about trying to grow. We are going to try onions from seeds too. So exciting!! I also love that the inside of their seed packages contain even more valuable information.

  4. I live in a tropical place. Sun and rain all year round. Not that I need the information, but just lovely to watch a seed haul and listen to others experience of gardening. Make me more appreciative of the climate that have been given to me. Tho I lack space, just few squarefeet, the all year round growing season makes up to it.

  5. I like to start ordering seeds during or just after harvest bc if the sites are out, I can usually request notification when they are back in stock

  6. Such valuable content, you have taught me so much. I am googling my frost dates and pleasantly surprised that my growing season is 182 days! I guess as long as I am organised starting seeds inside that I should be able to grow loads. I have just had knee surgery so can't get out to my garden so much this summer and am definitely living through your videos just now! Agree with the comment asking for seed saving videos. So far I have saved peppers and sweetpeas but I am mainly just making it up as I go along! Thanks Jess
