Gurl I grew up on my grandparent's farm. We had an outhouse and chamber pots for night time. I learned at the tender age of 1.5 yrs old how to pick peas, corn, okra, exc. We went from one truck farm to the next gathering components so we could prep them and can soup just to have something to eat during the winter. I am a Boomer and proud of it. We get stuff done

No offense taken here. I was born in 1960…dad was in the AF so we traveled a lot…spent time in other countries so I saw different ways people lived and I was lucky enough to spend some summers with my grandparents in Louisiana. I have to admit I was pretty shocked when my grandpa put a shotgun to the head of the pig they’d been raising….and me and my cousins were the ones who stuffed the intestines for sausage…I learned a lot from them.

People are too easily offended nowadays, that's part of our problem. I was born in 1964 so I am from the tail end of the boomers. My parents were older when I was born so they both worked since I can remember, they did not farm or garden but my 'adopted' grandparents did (my friends' grandparents that I grew up with too, family friends). I don't have the physical capabilities or the space to can or any of those other prepping things but I have been trying to stockpile canned, frozen, and freeze-dried foods. I applaud anybody that is looking to the future and trying to do something to prepare. I wish people would grow up though and quit being offended about everything.

Boomer here and proud of it. We are never too old to learn ways to survive. I have the greatest respect for any person, regardless of age, that are sharing their knowledge/skills with others. Thank you for what you do! Also, woke up to the need to prep at the end of 2019. There’s no going back!
