VIDEO: The Leaves are Green | DEVOTIONAL

Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.

There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

  1. Bless you, you have touched me in the name of Jesus. Everything you mentioned is how I feel. Jess keep posting devotionals because it helps me. I will
Have that conversation and listen to what his plans are for me. I would like to connect with you so I may grow my faith with Jesus.

  2. Thank you Jess. This word meant so much to me tonight. God gave me confirmations to "signs" I saw this evening. I instantly knew what God was telling me, it gave me such peace that erased the stress of what we may be headed through. Thank you. Your love is so precious. You have no idea the seeds you have planted today. Prayers for you and your family. I pray for all those seeds you planted to be watered. Hugs precious precious Jess.

  3. Thank you for sharing…I grew up in the Lutheran faith…when I married I joined the Catholic Church. After my children graduated from school I no longer went to church because of the differences in what I had grown up with and the church I had chosen to join. I lost my mom 3 years ago after a successful back surgery and then a sudden heart attack. She endured multiple heart surgeries to correct the damage the first heart attack had created but did not survive. That began and ended in a three week span. I am an only child so I became responsible for the care of my 89 year old dad. It was not a burden, he was extremely active in taking care of his cows and property. I will say that the Lord I believe in guided me in all decisions made with my dad… he got Covid in August of 2021 and spent three weeks in the hospital and another 3 weeks in rehab. He showed no improvement in rehab and I chose to bring him to my house after hours of prayer about it. He stayed with us for about 2 months until he recovered and was able to go home. He was able to check his cows daily, do some farm chores and attend church. In mid February of this year he fell in the middle of the night going to the bathroom. My hubby found him and I took him to urgent care where they discovered he had a UTI but nothing was broken just bruised. He came home with me again, recovered from the UTI but was not improving as I had anticipated. After many prayers, I talked to his GP and Hospice was brought in….he lasted another five days. As difficult as it was to watch him slowly slip away, my prayers for him to be united with my mom and his savior were answered. I could not have gone through these losses in such a short time without knowing that God is in control…I sometimes feel guilty that I am not grieving more, but I know where my parents are, they are celebrating Gods grace together….and I am happy in that fact.

  4. Hi Jess. I’m new to your channel. I’m ready to see, and work through it, just need strength to figure out how to get there. Even if it’s only 600 square feet, it will be loved and nurtured.

  5. Jess, this has been a blessing to me! I was needing this and to hear it from you is wonderful! I’ve watched it for a second time! Both you and Jeremiah are blessings! I’ve seen him work for two other homesteaders! Thank you and may He bless you!

  6. You are doing a great job Jess, just keep on doing your thing
you are blessed, you are not crazy, I to have dreams that come true. some times those dreams happen and the event doesn't happen for months later and at that moment you stop and realize that the dream you had just happened
its an awesome feeling, you are a great teacher so keep teaching sister

  7. Jess, thank you. You voice has echo what I have felt for a while. I have pressed this urgency to my children. Our Lord is a live and well and he is a light unto our paths. He does speak to us. We have to be willing to accept his guidance. Thank you again.

  8. This is the first of your devotionals I've ever watched. Though I am am no longer a Christian, and have too much hurt to go back, I am still very spiritual and believe in and follow the old gods. The calling to prepare is coming from all of them. I've been hearing it and heeding and trying not to be fearful. My garden is being prepared for the spring here in Australia because there aren't food shortages yet, but when a head of cabbage is $17, and an iceburg lettuce is $12, my plans for the ability to feed just my family are expanding to plans for abundance to share with my community. I can't afford it, but I know I can't afford not to.
Thank you for being you and helping me forgive just a little. Xx
