  1. Watching this right now and I feel so much for the woman you speak of. I was diagnosed last month with uterine cancer, still have my teary, freak out moments. My husband is so amazing. We live in an apartment in a decent sized town, wanting to get back to the country but it's gonna have to wait until my treatments are over and I'm cancer free. Mainly cause we're wanting to go to another state. For any who want it, farmers markets are awesome places to get fresh veggies. We've been getting ours from the local farmers market, and we're actually able to get more than from the grocery store. I know as far as the contrast dyes, the hospitals in my area are definitely having issues.

  2. Here's a little tip. My grocery store put boxes of non gmo instant oatmeal on sale. The little packages have very fine grained oatmeal in them. It would make good baby food for a little one. Just a head's up. Don't forget your basic first aid needs and your supplements too .

  3. I'm a 78 yo widow trying to prepare for my family, with very little help from my family! Garden is full of grass but I'm down in my back so can barely walk. No offers of help. I'm ready to give up on them!! Please pray for us!!!!

  4. Patera is right. Try growing something. Some things will do better than others, your soil, etc has alot to do with it. You will find out what you like to grow and what grows best in your environment. Save the seeds from mature veggies and fruit, dry, label, store. I do try one or two new things every year, some I keep , some I don't. For a beginning gardener, tomatoes, green beans, and most squashes are easy to grow.

  5. I have heard to stimulate the flower buds(pollen) with an electric/battery toothbrush to pollinate them like a bee would. especially indoors. Have you heard that one? Supposedly a better fruit success rate. This would be hard on a farm with many tomato plants such as you have there.

  6. Patera, I honestly believe that as believers we are prepping for others. I don’t think we will ever use what we have prepped because I believe we will see Jesus before things get that bad. BUT I have grown children who are unbelievers. I have placed a book that explains what happened when the rapture occurs along with a Bible. It is my prayer that whoever finds it will be saved. Just my thoughts.

  7. As a diabetic and concerned about insulin availability, I want to encourage everyone to consider The Keto way of eating. Following Keto the Dr was able to stop all my fast acting mealtime insulin and was able to cut my nighttime slow acting insulin in half. Diabetics should all be aware of Keto for when insulin may not be available. It can save your life if you stick to the plan.

  8. Inflation in France is HORRIBLE! Gas price here was around €1 per litre for diesel during the lockdowns, now up to €2.15 and climbing fast. I’ve heard it’ll go up to €3.20 by the end of this year (we shall see). Not long ago there were shortages of flour, eggs, and sun flower seed oil. The food chain is collapsing little by little, in my educated guess anyway.

  9. My zucchini failed this year. Never had a problem before. Lettuce is great along with cuke. Beans, tomatoes and snap peas are coming along but very slow. We'll see if they work out. Every year is different and there's no rhyme or reason to it.

  10. Have been packing in the canned food even though I am putting up food through the FD, canning. Want to have plenty that I can feel like I can give when the need arises.
