I started experimenting with these type of orchids in 2020, I remove all the peat and planting medium and let em dry out. I like how you utilized those flower vases. I have a couple of those.
I've been using the containers they came in, thoroughly cleaning them out and partially fill them with lava rock to help contain the moisture base. Most have continued growing and its been neat to watch them develop buds/rebloom.

Listen, I tried some of what you had suggested in the past and everything died. I may attempt to put plants in some water in a jar again but let's say I'm reluctant to trust what you show here.
