My brother direct sowed carrots close and did grow small carrots! Only a few were solo and they grew a bit bigger!

Mine are staying small it seems like they are hardly growing. I just covered the seeds in a bag of raised bed soil and only fertilized them once with Miracle-Gro.

I just got back in from doing this about an hour or two ago. I thought I was doing it really late, but yours were much further along then mine were. I hadn’t grown carrots since I was 8 years old. I’m 37 now. I have some dense clay soil and it’s a new garden, but I tilled up a spot behind my Florida weave tomatoes knowing they might get shaded a bit. So far, they aren’t stuggling.
