Your folks are awesome *waves hi back! I just put up about 8 qts of green beans flash frozen long and 6 pints of flash frozen chopped. Make 30 pts of salsa and another 25 cans if salsa Verde so far. My plans this week are cowboy candy, dehydrated jalapeños, pears halves in light juice and tomato pie…plus borscht for my sister. Harvest is crazy this year.
Priorities for next year… and electric pressure cooker and a new square dehydrator…and if I sell my truck and get something much smaller… I can get a freeze dryer… big plan, big goals. Ty for your inspiration Becky!

Becky this recipe is from my 1939 recipe book on using green tomatoes. Green Tomato Jam. 6lbs Green Tomatoes. 6lbs Sugar.6 Lemons. Rind of 3 cut in strips. Method. Slice Tomatoes add Lemon Juice and shredded Rind plus a little water to prevent sticking. Cook 5 minutes . Stir in the sugar . Boil till it jells when tested. This is surprising as a jam for joining cakes biscuits and sandwich spread.

I've been watching your channel for a while and i really learn a lot abd enjoy it a lot aswell.
Anise can be used as a spice snd in Switzerland it's mostly used during Christmas-Season. Do make a really special christmascookie called "Anisbrötli" it's quite hard to make but really tasty and nice looking.
I'll try and tranlate the recipe to english and put a picture of it in the comment aswell.

When your chickens free range look around your yard for eggs! If they find a place they like they will frequent it to lay in…usually the same chicken in the same place.

Ok I think you have worn a apron on every video for about 3 months straight and now I see you with the pregnant walk, so you must be hiding that bump. Lol would love an update if you want. Knowing you are due in December and all the work you do in the garden and all over you are gonna have a very easy labor and delivery.
The anise will give you anise seeds which are popular in cooking.
Listening to your dad hunt for treasure in the potato patch literally gave me life. It was so heartwarming!
In New Mexico we use anise seed in biscochitos around the holidays.
Use Green tomato to make salsa varde , taste amazing . you can try this.

i started planting veggies and well today my free ranging chickens jumped over the fence into the front yard and dug a few of my plants. i put them back into there pen with some food for tonight thankfully my pea plants were not touched by them. i started gardening after finding your channel and seeing that it wasn't as hard as i thought it would be
Anise is used in Mexican Sweet Breads. Wonderful flavor in those breads
You can use all of those tiny potatoes if you look up Syracues Salt Potatoes. They are delishous and all you have to do is wash off the potatoes and cook them. Syracuse is famous for Salt Potatoes.
