  1. You do not need to sterilize jars used for pressure canning because they will get sterilized in the canning process. But you should sterilize jars used for water bath canning because water bath canning does not bring the jars up to sterilization temperature (or pressure)… this has not changed but it has been clarified…

    I’m old so I remember…

  2. I adore the relationship you have together. I am one of the odd women, like you who likes and loves my Mother-in-Law. She's been like a mother to me since I joined the family at just 19. My own Mother let me get away with murder! Not my MIL. She scolds me like she birthed me. LOL If you are familiar with the Book of Ruth….I am Ruth to her Naomi. Always. Thanks for letting the world see that it is possible to become a beloved Mother or daughter. Josh is a lucky guy to have such beautiful, strong, loving women in his life. Prayers for you all and that little one on the way.

  3. Tell us more about Renee's ready to eat meals , all I can think of is chilli and beef stew. I love canning with my niece that lives next door. Going to try your sauces. Hope my son likes them.

  4. A garlic peeling party sounds wonderful. I bought a bag of garlic from Costco once and it took me about 5 days to peel. It kept getting under my nails and they got very sore.

  5. I freeze dry mostly meals. I do freeze fry ingredients individually but I find complete meals to be the best. I prefreeze the meals and if I don’t have enough skinless meals to fill the dryer. I do a homemade v-8 juice, salsa, etc. today I did chicken crattatori (deboned thigh meat, Roasted peppers and onions and mushrooms) tomorrow I’m doing skinless chicken a la king with noodles ( deboned chicken thighs, cream of mushroom soup, mushrooms, peas, sliced thin roasted red peppers, cooked noodles)
