Strawberries Need Winter Protection. Especially if you live in a cold climate. When the plants start to shut it down in the early fall, the temptation to set them of for winter his high!

Do you cut back the foliage before you cover with straw?
Thank you so much for this video. I was going nuts about my strawberries freezing.
My June strawberry planters are confused. Some are dying off for the year and one has flowers and producing fruits??
All bar one was a runner from one plant last year. No runners yet this year so maybe the older plant is the one that is producing the strawberries again? I wish i had labelled the original last year to see. First time that i have seen it produce flowers a second time and we had loads of strawberries this year!
Now I need to find some mulch all I have is leaves and grass I hope that will be enough.
My berries are still producing huge berries.

Some of my strawberries plants leaves are drying up while putting on new growth at the same time. Some are putting out runners. What should I do here in Central Florida 9b? We usually don't get a frost until mid to late November.
Yout timing is impeccable! I was debating whether I should be doing it this weekend. I’ll wait a couple more weeks.
Question though – what should I be doing with the asparagus I planted last summer. This was their first growth year (I know I need to wait another 2 years before harvesting).
Hey Jeff!!! Good info as always!!! I'm in zone 4/5 and are caring for strawberry plants in a raised bed. Should I pull them out and trench these plants in somewhere other than this raised bed??? There's no possible way to buffer it as it's in a public place.
