  1. ….go eat a pinecone…..I just about spit my coffee out this morning on that one liner. Keep doing you ma'am. Love the information with your everyday humor mixed it. Always keeping it real! Thank you!

  2. The diesel shortage is real. My husband runs a fleet of trucks and their supplier said they might go 24 hours without diesel availability. The price will be going up significantly.

  3. I went to the local HEB grocery store here in Texas and I actually saw some things COME DOWN in price. Chicken is $1.09 a lb. The cookies I buy came down 30 cents. A few items came down a little.

  4. I stocked up a massive amount of food starting last year. Well, the last couple of months I have found myself in a personal financial emergency and having that extra food on hand has been an absolute Godsend. Not having to worry about where my family's next meal is coming from is an amazing relief to me. Keep stocking people. Keep investing in your homestead. Maybe nothing major comes around but everyone goes through tough financial spots and having that safety net makes life so much easier when your already fighting to keep your head above water.

  5. I have noticed that as of about a month ago letter carriers are walking the route (like the old days) and parking their truck at the end of the long street. Hmmm – saving on fuel? Hubby did shopping for me yesterday (Wednesday) and the store was packed with old people (like us). First Wednesday of the month is 10% off for seniors. Take care and love seeing the animals.

  6. Gas in Dayton, Ohio jumped $.50 a gallon overnight on Tuesday… a week before the election. Diesel today is $5.29/gal according the Gas Buddy; however I do home health and a rural town along I-70 about 14 miles from the Indiana line had Diesel for $5.99/gal… I’m fortunate about that my company gives us a hefty gas card each month, but I’m not sure how long this will last with changes to Medicare and Insurance reimbursement coming in January.
Thank you for speaking truth Patara and being a daily reminder and motivator to keep busy and prep!

  7. I’m currently drying leftover pretzel sticks and cinnamon swirl in my fridge. I’m hoping to grind it down and use it as bread coating and hopefully the cinnamon swirl for a dessert topping or crust later. Not real sure how to store it for shelf life

  8. Just saw a school bus getting gas at a gas station in Springville Alabama, about 15 minutes north of Birmingham, today. Thought it was very strange looking at the time, but it wasn’t until later when I realized that it’s probably because the school doesn’t have diesel??? I don’t know but it was weird to see. Never have I seen a school bus getting gas at a gas station before.
