for food grade 5 gallon buckets, approach your local restaurants, many buy many of their supplies in 5 to 7 gallon sizes. I get many for free.
I’ve seen some great videos on starting seeds on a budget. You’re right though, that it doesn’t make sense to go through all the trouble if you’re only planning to plant a few.
