Hi! Save the cuttings, and try to root them! :]
trim below the limes so the plant can concentrate on branch growth not fruit. you may have to stake it later any way.
I won't be doing that. its either cut it, or leave it. I don't do cuttings. takes wayyyy to long
u should train the 2 stems together kinda braidlike and allow it to bush out at the top then you dont loose growth it will sturdy and still have a bit of hight. and look like a tree not a vine hahah you can cut off any growing tips at the top that start but i wouldnt lop of a year of growth !!
cut it!
Stake it and leave it – that's a lot of growth to cut. Should have cut it back a long time ago so it grew like a bush. I would leave it now.
cut it
I would cut it a little bit higher, but cut it nonetheless :/
I'd cut it at the base where it forks, just leaving the strongest trunk, and then I would cut it back, about 4 inches off the top and then jus let it go from there. Next repot just straighten it up to where the single trunk grows as straight as you can get it.
we were taught in horticulture class not to cut off more than 1/3 of the plant. What you want to cut off is about 1/2, that's too much. Cut off less its better for the plant.
Cut It!!!!!!!
Cut it
Ok, as much as Ray and I like eachother, and are best buddies. We are not the same channel. He does things just like I do, but some is different some is the same. I want to be my own person, AND rays buddy. but for some reason people always say "RAY DOES THIS" and if we all did that we all would have success. This may be true because he can grow just about anything, but I want to experiment on my own and if I fail, then we learn. Thats all I am saying. 2 different youtubers, 2 different styles.
Cut it.
Cut it
Prune it, what have you got to lose?
Definitely cut it back!
My lime tree had the fork like yours but it died so not advice from me.
I like how that sounds but I probably will leave it in that pot for life unfortunatly. but you do pose a great idea!
Are citrus cuttings easy to root? If so I'd say cut it and try to root the branches.
Cut
Usually when you cut down a plant, it puts out more branches and is bushier and ends up looking much better. You could also try weaving the two branches together, just sort of twist them around each other.
hmmmm I didn't. but thats a good one!
bring two branch together and twist them like nots tie with rubber bands like the do with ficus make real pretty and you are using bonsai technique to make on truck eventually two branch will fuse together..making it really nice looking..
yes they can be rooted better under mist but citrus roots suffer from certain diseases better to graft on sour orange or trifoliate ..for better rootstock
i would say cut the top of the strongest branch a little higher than the fruit and the other branch cut it down low that is what i would do.
NO NO NO!!! leave it! Its doing fine! If you cut you'll get less fruit and you might ruin the plant. Use a stick or steak to stop the wobbling.
honestly, slowly pull it down, like, tie a string to a high part of your tree, and the other end to the pot an slowly over the course of a month or two, add tension untill the tree grows sideways
