VIDEO: GGC – 6 – Tour of Waskaganish, a Cree village on James Bay

Part 3 of our three-week road trip across northern Quebec and Eastern Canada (the Atlantic Provinces) in order to cross off the final provinces and territories of our coast to coast to coast Canadian adventure! In this video, we receive a guided tour of Waskaganish, explore surrounding nature, hear tips on bear tracking, and learn a little about traditional medicines.

  1. What a generous man, so enthusiastic, so knowledgable and willing to share.  So impressed with Canada and Canadians.  Currently binge watching your play lists here in Ozzie land. Thanks for posting everything.  Inspiring lives.

  2. Hey, so I'm going on a similar road trip this week, and my family realized that there are no campgrounds in Waskaganish 🙁 . Do you mind helping me out in terms of how you stayed there overnight, and do you know if they'll let you camp there like without a campground?

  3. Fabulous documentary! I've done numerous fly-in remote bush fishing trips east of there over the years, but have never been to the coast. The farthest north on the James Bay Highway I've traveled is KM 381.Such a remote, wild and beautiful land which was unfortunately devastated by huge wild fires a few years ago. Someday I'd like to get to Radisson and see the Quebec Hydro complex there. Thanks again. (Form Ohio.)

  4. Thank You ,Ken for being there (awesome)taken Us Back To Reality God Bless you and Family . You guys I Really enjoyed all the nature stuff I seen the 10 and thought was that the time ,I fish so High tide mention was cool & not to go ouy ona boat. You have a Tough Van when they `ll pave the road. Long Trip . I post some of your stuff on FB .Had family that lived near Ottawa Canada help alot of US live though Vietnam.

  5. Always like these kind of adventure vids. Only if we had YouTube back in '92 when I traveled to Alaska on the Alaska Highway from BC through the Yukon into Alaska to Fairbanks and back to load up on YouTube for everyone to watch.

  6. My Wife and I have been up to Waskaganish twice. Q in Winter and 1 in Summer. Sence we were first there in 2918 they have Paved a lot of the Town Roads and as of 2019 2 to 2 Km of the Road out of Town. The Cree People have a Great Faith in Jesus. They show a Love that We have Not seen in the rest of Canada. Great People.
