This week on Allotment Grow How we wander up into the woods looking for some leaf mould to collect and spread on the beds to improve the soil quality and act as an organic mulch.

It's the ace camerawork that lifts your vids into outer space, Adam. What about garlic? Will you be planting late autumn as usual, or waiting until Spring is sprung and the grass is rizz?
Good camera work there Adam , I enjoy watching your videos. I do gardens ie grass cutting and general tidying up. I don’t post onto YouTube . Some odd bag of rubbish I take to my local allotment to burn. Half of the plots are unused so the owner lets me burn on one . It’s shocking that there are so many gone to pot .After watching your videos they make me want to get down there and sort on out. So looking forward to following and possibly copying you next year Thankyou
Hi Adam. That leaf mould is really good stuff and must help with your sandy soil. Your monster beetroot was quite mangled but I’m sure you got a few small ones for pickling. I’ve put my monster beetroot video up tonight too. Thanks for hosting the competition. Take care. Nick
I Adam. The leaf mould looks really good and worth the effort to get it. I leave mine on top through the winter and dig it in in the Spring. Really enjoyable big beetroot review though mate, mine were not much bigger, still it's what you do with it that matter!!!! We make pickled beetroot and Jen makes a beetroot and Apple crumble, really nice actually. At least it was a nice sunny day mate and the new boots look good!!! Take care Adam. Rog n Jenny
Another excellent production Adam. I'm sure you put in several hours filming and editing. Bravo. Best wishes bob.
Always one step ahead Adam. the amount of people I see collecting new leaves & storing them for a year or two. Common sense mate. Great video by the way as always a pleasure to watch.
"Leg-Over" – A new carrot variety developed by AGH.
Maybe you'd have had a whole bunch of baby carrots if you'd left them there over the winter?!?
Oh it didn't take long! 0:23 had me longing and by 0:37 I thought it couldn't get much better! However, then it did. How cool is it that you don't have to bag leaves for a year? The fact that you can just go and help yourself to ready made leaf mould is wonderful, lucky you. As always, great vid mate, my entry into the beetroot challenge is up and running and we will talk soon my friend. 🙂
Awesome free resource you have nice and close! You could use a garden cart, friend. Nice monster beet root, I look forward to next years challenges. Sure hope to see more vids, gonna be a long winter without my gardening fixes. Have a great week Adam:)
Thanks Adam, You are never boring.
Every video is different, Carrots and beetroot look ok, Good enough for a stew or soup, Wash, trim and in the pot. Yum
free leaf mould as much as you like, you lucky fella !! great footage in the woods
Hi. Adam. Long. Way. To. Coletc..leaf.what.about..to.colect.then.whit.a.wearl.borow.
So you think its acceptable to steal this from nature ,make your own and wait
That is some rich leaf mold. Would it not be easier to use a wheel barrow which allows you to collect more and less weight on shoulders?
