My husband and I orginally had a goal of a "full quiver" (six children) but reached five with a pregnancy of twins and decided that was enough for us. We often got the comment of "Wow, you have your hands full" so often that I made my own t-shirt with stick figures of our family and included the comment "Yes, we have our hands full". I can related to your large family. We also always took all our kids to the grocery store; hubby wanted to do as much as possible as a family. I'm glad we did.
I have had beautiful experiences with Jesus. Sometimes fasting sometimes just revelation. Pretty much when I just press in to him he directs me to his adventure.

One thing that works very well for large fruits like melons & squash on vertical supports is pieces of pantyhose, these also work very well for isolating blossoms to prevent cross-pollination. If you buy an extra-large pair that is many bags & fruit hangers that can be made. I am hoping to see if this works well for Watermelons this year. I know it works for cantaloupes.
Just stumbled upon this blog. I am ecstatic that you stayed with this topic of faith. For whomever God blessed with the gift of faith, you guys did a phenomenal job of seed-sowing, pun intended. Tip for getting rid of chipmunks: get an outdoor cat. They are good for keeping down rodent pests including moles, voles, etc.

For one year plant alfalfa. plant buckwheat with your plants. Dedicate a bed for legumes.
Our raspberries died and we had Verticillium wilt in our soil. Local co-op extention tested soil and thats what killed our whole patch.
