VIDEO: Propagating 3 Types of Pothos via Water Cuttings (Foolproof Method) 🌱

Pothos propagation is easy. It’s a great plant to start with if you’re new to plant propagation in general, because it roots quite easily in water and doesn’t require much care throughout the rooting process.

You can mix and match different varieties if you’d like to create an interesting, blended-variety pothos pot too. I haven’t seen many people do this!

In today’s video, you’re going to learn how to propagate 3 varieties of pothos: Satin, Green Queen, and Marble Queen. Don’t worry…the method is the same!

  1. I’m so sad! I thought I took proper cuttings of my (passed) Mom’s pothos – but clearly didn’t cut long enough areas 🙁 the leaves are still green two months after I cut them – but no roots 🙁

  2. Hmm, there are lots of these vines at work. I almost wonder if I could get away with borrowing a cutting or three without anyone noticing.
    Almost, of course.

  3. Why are my pothos in water not growing any roots, but fast in sprouting new leaf? Like new sprout every 2-3 weeks. Why is that? Are they ok?

  4. I Kno this video is 3yrs.old..but I have a pothos I'm wanting to propergate.. are u saying all the big plants at stores are just cuttings all thrown in 1pot?? Or is there a chance my pothos is 1big plant?? I want to know..if it is def all cuttings I want to take it apart and do it and make 3 plants..but if it's 1plant I wouldn't want to tear it apart ,other than doing the oropergating as you showed…any info would be appreciated..THANX in advance..

  5. I just subscribed to your channel after watching this video. 🙂 Can you send me a link to a follow up video to this. (I wanted to know how these Pothos cuttings came out?) You got my hooked… like the cliffhanger in a TV show…lol. — Thank you for a reply.

  6. It is easier to plant roots horizontally in the pot. Premoisten the soil, turn the pot on it's side.. stick soil to the side, jus lay down the plant and root add another layer of sticky soil then another plant root…etc.. until it's full.

  7. I was inspired by you. I started my golden and satin pothos…but since I lack counterspace/ good windows..or appropriate containers lol…i used plastic bags and wrapped the nodes in wet paper towel (bag left open) And one small jar with two golden in water. It works! And faster with the plastic bag than on the counter. Must be the higher humidity in the bag. Yay!!!

  8. as cool looking as that Amazon station is, Its really Impractical compared to a Starbucks mocha glass I use. I wouldn't recommend it for pothos. however it may be fine with smaller stemmed plants. For Cheap Alternatives, I recommend checking Your local Goodwills, Thrift shops, and yard sales for any Glassware. Some candle jars work great as well

  9. I found your video after wasting an hour watching inferior presentations. Your video is definitely the best on here. My pothos will appreciate all I'ver leasrned from you. Thank you for helping…

  10. Would really like to see a video from you on growing pathos in water. I have one leaf with a good root on it in water. I wanted to keep it in water. I don’t know what the best type of container to grow in or how much fertilizer is needed. All the good stuff to have a healthy and strong pathos. The leaf is off a Golden Pothos.
