Thanks for sharing the info on the numbers. Good to know
I found that my Buttercrunch lettuce in a large tote grew monstrous compared those in Mason jars, everything else remaining equal. Very much looking forward to Kratky vs DWC results!
Hi Tikki. I've noticed you and Jeb going to larger and larger reservoirs.
I'm experimenting with a different solution:

A very useful video. I would have difficulty getting power to the area for the air pump but it is good to see this. Thank you.
Very cool and Thanks for the info..!
How do you keep light from going through your net pots into the reservoir ? . I’m using lava rock and the light still gets through and causes algae .
Thank you very much . From morroco
Another great video. I use the masterblend nutrients too. I have the exact same scale. Didn't notice if you compared the results difference between the two tubbies with bubbler and without??
Circlesaws work better when turning clockwise 😀
Will start with a similar setup without the pump to use for kratky.
Very cute
You were having a hard time cutting the holes for the pots because you had the drill bit spinning the wrong direction hahaha
Absolutely love your videos! You explain things so well, and aren't afraid to be honest about any short comings. When you said my lighting needs would be more in a basement setting, does that mean I'd simply need more lights (maybe a large one on top and both sides?) or that say, instead of a blue light like you have, the main light should be full spectrum?
I just found your video's and I have to say you do such a great job of explaining and showing how to reproduce what you do! I actually feel like I can do this too! Thank you!
one of the best explained videos , great job, i loved it.
like your videos. You are very detailed and you explained and illustrated your stuff very well. I will check more your videos. Thanks!
I found the Hefty totes at Lowe’s.
Thanks for explaining the relation between recycling numbers and food safety.
Couldn't you just use an X-acto knife to cut the holes?
i suggest having the air lines coming thru the lid, and having a spare tote for water changes, when it comes to it all you do is lift the top and put it onto the freshly prepared tote, simples, if you have an inline connector just off the exit from the lid you can make each system modular, things can be moved, disconnected simply, makes life real easy and you can make lids with varying designs of holes for different sized plants and switch them out, keeping the air line etc all wired in ready to put a stone on and bam you are growing
Also when you put your new seedlings and rockwool into the net pots have a layer of balls at the bottom, the roots will figure their way you dont want the rockwool to ever be saturated, its just meant to splash the new roots and be a humid environment to encourage them to grow out, the plants will rot if your main root ball node doesnt stay dry
can you use regular pebbles instead of clay pebbles? also is it okay if my air pump is off at night?
Great video – Thank you! Do you have a video showing the end results of these plantings?
your roots look rotten, which would explain why the plants are dead.
You can not have a air gap AND a airpump? Do you need a airstone? I have found an old pump in the ched without the airstone. I do get bubbles. So what does the airstone do?
This is the best video I've come across yet!!!! Thank you!
So if tomatoes will grow from this, will other plants that get denser towards harvest grow well with this setup or will I need to support them?
Hi mam. I would like to know if have you tried DWC without pump? How does that differs mam? Outdoor hydroponics mam.
Can I use this to grow Marijuana
very nicely done but it should be one plant per tub otherwise one bad plant can poison the rest and no drip on top of the pot to keep it going while the plants reach for water as the pot should be at least 2cm above the water not in it otherwise the roots become unhealthy the foil also throws bad light natural light does not reflect under leaves outside so it shouldn't inside once i changed to that setup from the one in your vid and (ty as i would never have started without it) i doubled its potential
