We have tried garlic in the past however we have never got any results until now. Last October we planted in October and it was the first plant to come through in spring. So with the stems leaning over it was time to see what the bulbs where like and then I planted salad rocket, mustard greens and radish immediately after harvesting to get another crop from the same area of ground.

Super harvest Huw, my garlic was a bit smaller this year as for the first time it had rust, so I pulled a little earlier. My failure two years running is purple top turnip. I love it but for two years it has flowered, any tips Huw would be great. Planted in different parts of the garden. I am in Middlesbrough, so weather here not fantastic to say the least.

Roast Garlic in oil, and spread on crusty bread. You'll go through lots of garlic that way. 😉 We had to plant extra for that very dish.

I must be getting better at this malarky – last week I harvested my garlic, this week I sowed salad leaves and radishes in the same space! and today I have seedlings! wahay!
Very nice looking harvest of garlic. Been told in our area that is a must to plant in late fall so that the season is long enough to grow them. Trouble with being in the foothills of Alberta.

I "clicked" the notification Bell for your channel, (I had already subscribed a while back) but I do not want to miss a video 🙂 Thanks for making really enjoyable videos – I always learn something or am greatly Encouraged to get out there and Garden! Sharing your Gardens excess, is such a kind sentiment, we used to have friends that did this with their excess and we were able to share berries back that they did not grow – it was special for everyone 🙂 One other idea for making sure you keep enough garlic on hand for your needs, is chopping the garlic (very small) and putting in a glass jar and cover over with Olive Oil – let it sit for at least 4 days before using. It lasts great and makes it really handy for a lot of uses. Whether you want a small jar or larger jar, is totally up to you – works beautifully either way. Thank You again for this timely video as I am making plans for Fall Planting – and by the way, you can't remind us to succession plant too many times – I want that thought to become second nature 🙂
hi huw is it too late to put in garlic now , how long does it take to grow
I fail on garlic every time, for some reason the plant doesnt grow big enough and so the bulb is also small
I love sharing the food I grow. but garlic is the one thing that I spend a lot of money on I can buy huge containers of already peeled cloves and it is a bucketful and they're gone in 2 weeks! it helps my immune system and some of the health issues I have. We crave it so I could never ever have enough I suppose people can smell that too but that's okay. I'd rather smell garlic than true bad breath any day! Thank you for your great videos living in Washington state in the u.s. I think we have more of a similar environment for growing. where most places are warmer and a little more tropical for lack of better words. I think we have somewhat similar weather. So you helped me a lot more than some of the channels I really like but just don't live in that kind of environment. sorry for the long-winded message. I can erase it later after you read it.

Congrats on your yield. I think sometimes it just depends on the variety you choose as to how your success may go. For example, some varieties are more tolerant to damp soil, and make claim to be more resistant to rust, etc. The garden looks phenomenal as usual. What large Nasturtiums!!

What garlic do you use?
Beautiful garlic. I suppose garlic is not used much in the UK, because our family would go through that harvest in about 2 months or less.
You could make a huge jar of pickled garlic if you have too many 🙂 it’s delicious and you can use the vinegar afterwards which tastes Spicey and unique
Can you eat the green stems and still dry the garlic bulbs?
