That was so awesome! This may seem like a novice question (and I am quite the novice!) but are brassica plants and cruciferous vegetables synonymous?
Thank you so much.
This is probably a stupid question, but I'm wanting to know about part of the process that I can't find the answer to. Most of our blossoms are gone and have turned to pods. They're still pretty green pods. Do I keep watering? At what point can I cut them down and hang them to dry? I'm tired of watering them daily!
So they grow and make Broccoli and then they die?
Can you do, or have you done, a video on how to keep your brassicas from crossing? Also, does broccoli go to seed after you pick the broccoli?
How long will it take for the seedpods to dry on the plant?
My question is do you continue to water the broccoli plant as it goes to flower & form the pods? Will the pods even turn brown if i continue to water them? I'm thinking the seeds inside the pods needs to form and mature. Oops, i see someone ask the same question down below. Sorry! I'm really surprised not more people ask this question. Thanks!
hi bud.. I'm interesting with your video, I'm always wondering how to make broccoli seeds from the beginning till end, if you pleased… I hope you can make a new videou tutorial make seed completely… cause we are here need many information.. farmer from Bengkulu… thanks
great video1 I'm new to gardening and am wondering how long do the saved seeds last and should i keep them airtight or let them dry out?
I grew broccoli from cuttings, I cut the stalk into 3 inch pieces and then just plant, broccoli grows from them when it's time, it's not a very big head but perfect for seeds.
VERY cool video man!! Im an avid gardener but I learned ALOT!! I’ll follow you’re instructions to the letter. Awesome work!! Cheers!!
Amazon sells seeds for $17. 1 lb. produces 50 jars of sprouts. A years worth.
No fuss…..
Were those broccoli rabe?

Will this work if I cut my overgrowth and wait for the plant to wilt or do I have to wait until it does naturally?
Do I need to be concerned with having seed cross pollination with cabbage or cauliflower? Also, do I need to let more than one had go to seed as cross pollinators or will it self pollinate?
Aww Man! I just harvested the seed pods too early. Thankfully I have one plant still in ground. But im curious, can i dry out the pods already harvested? or just throw them out. Thnx, Sakinah
My kale seed pods are still green but there are bugs on them – aphids? Can I just cut the stalks while the seed pods are green and hang it up somewhere to dry? Or will the seeds stop developing?
Just what I needed. I like the blow it outta the jar tip….haha….handpicking the dry pods very tedious!
Will the seed pods show up after the flowers? Mine just flowered yesterday and I want to try and save seeds
Good video…
my italian kale seeds look like light brown is that normal ? originaly they look like darker ?
I live in western Montana and am worried I'll get snow before they dry up. Can I pick the plants and let them dry fully in my garage?
Hello i have one question
Last year i had siberian kale and red russian kale they did cross polited each other some seeds germinated and look like red russian leaves but colour of siberian. So can i save. This kind of seeds ?
Luke how you avoid brassica family Cross polination ?
can u pick the seed pod while its green and dry it out? does that work? @MIgardener
Thank you for this. I planted my brocolli too late and it all bolted and flowered. I noticed tons of pods all over them and now I know I got seed pods. I am so excited.
Being that Broccoli are technically mustards, I wonder what making a mustard sauce out of Broccoli seed would be like.
what if you put the plant upside down in a bag so the break open and catch the seeds
