If you’ve ever thought you just “can’t grow plants” because you have a huge brown thumb, then I have a surprise for you….
Zamioculcas Zamiifolia, or the “ZZ plant”, is the plant for you! It’s almost like it was designed for new gardeners that tend to kill plants. It’s one of the hardiest houseplants you’ll come across, making it the perfect choice for a beginner gardener.
In this guide, we’ll take a look at the incredibly easy to care for Zamioculcas zamiifolia, more commonly referred to simply as the ZZ plant.
I touch on ZZ plant propagation as well, as you’ll probably want more of these babies in your home.

My little kid asked me why it's called ZZ Plant? He asked "Is it because it likes to sleep a lot?"
I killed my ZZ plant. All the stems got rotten and nothing left standing. Will it still grow back? I hope the bulbs will not rot as well.
Fell in love with these and hunted for for years. Finally I brought one and it had gotten to big for the pot and warped it. I had to cut it out the pot. It's doing so well now.
Over Watering kills the plant. If you have to treat it like a cactus. Water once or 2 times a month. Just try to not water if you are over carding and watering type of person.
Like that explanation. I bought a ZZ plant today. Will report it into a terracotta pot and give it some love
Mine is as good as dead, hopefully i can save it sheeesshhh
if you are an overwatering person, you will kill this plant as quickly as a month or two !
Just bought my first zz yesterday, she is absolutely beautiful with about 20 stems for just $13. She does look fake.
Thankk You!!! I have 4 ZZ plants… Absolutely the best! And Most Beautiful!!
Great upload..to the point and on point..thanks.. question..do you think this will work in a bathroom with absolutely no light as I haven't a window.
If only it weren't toxic to cats
They really do follow the light! :'D
Idk….
I learn so so much from you
From my gardens outside to my jungle inside .. today I finally added a giant ZZ plant to my never ending collection inside .. but Q.I thought I heard I could put it in very low light corner of my house? But no?
No pests because the ZZ plant is poisonous when ingested.

Great information thank you i bought a zz plant iv seperated mine from its roots is that ok?
Not sure what to do when my plants just get too big (and I’m new to planting lol) my jade plants got so huge, like a tree. Took it to work to give away & my coworkers were amazed at how big it was they took it. Now my zz plant is getting big but I’m worried about the spots I’m now noticing.
:38 – I chopped it in half and laughed as it died, only to find it had actually formed caluses, to be planted again…
Great plant great video
Okay so I have a beautiful ZZ plant and it keeps growing a lot! I recently over-watered it and there are a couple of now-yellow stems. I've taken it out of the holding pot to dry out the soil (so the main pot can drain out). Is it okay to cut these back? Will it still grow? I don't want to kill it but it's kinda getting too big for where I have it. Thanks 🙂
Thanks for making this video for caring the ZZ plant
What about if I live somewhere with no sunshine for the winters (BC, Canada) what about grow light
Should I shine it on but leave it at a distance? I bought a huge established ZZ plant
I want to buy a ZZ Plant, but the only space I have is nowhere near a window. The main light source would be standard lightbulbs. Would it survive?
I have mine in my restroom with no sun and she loves it I have 5 babies that came out at the same time
